Details of Rounds 16 -23 will be revealed this Thursday afternoon.

Have Demonland devotees informed the AFL of our preferred opponents/ times/locations for those rounds yet ??

If not, we need to get to it !!

As I said on another thread I hope this kind of commentary is right.... but our (limited) record against sides in contention isn't great so far this season - next 4-6 weeks will give us a proper indication of where we're at.

All these stats are great but 7 of our first 9 games were against teams in the bottom 9 including 3 against the bottom 3 so of course it's going to look good on paper.

Big game Friday night v port!

Let's just get this game (and hopefully win) behind us. We ought to win 3 of the next 4 but the sweetest scalp would be that of Collingwood !!!

    It is to dream !!

  3. I think that when he gets a bit of experience under his belt and more confidence, he will be an incredibly important asset for the team.

Can anyone tell me what the clubs intention was for JVR when they drafted him

Was it always for a KPF roll or were there other possible positions in mind ??

No tiddlywinks to determine the winner? Or ... more in line with the AFL's sponsorships ... one roll each on a pokie machine.

If you ‘ tiddle’ when you should be ‘winking’ , there ought to be a free kick against your team downfield for that offence !!

  5. Honestly, this is going to seem ridiculous but probably not  any more than the original penalty applied to Van Rooyen.

If the penalty stood for this incident, then, in an instant, 75 % of all actions on a football field become a potential source of a suspension for every single player in the comp.

And the next logical step would be to allow only one player to go for a mark to remove the possibility of any injury to any player. Perhaps the single player allowed to go for the mark should be the one who first calls out " IT'S MINE !!! "

Any other player attempting to compete for it concedes a free kick and a 50 metre penalty.

This might not be so far from a probable outcome as people might think

With the AFL as it's currently run, anything is possible

Maybe but the sad fact is that apart from Zorko who has very limited football ability IMO the other two are completely devoid of skill - how Matheson remains on their list is a complete mystery to me

Mind you Matheson is good at fluffing around, puffiing out his chest and picking up some soft possessions,

    so there is that !!

Tomlinson was excellent. I hope he's given another week and potentially more if form permitting. Am I crazy in thinking Petty isn't an automatic lock, if he gets beaten next week and May is ready to return v Sydney? I know some, even me, have pencilled him in as a future AA Backman, but that doesn't exactly mean his spot is an absolute lock, if others 'below' are performing. It's easy to forget he's still 23* and isn't immune to a dip in form.

In no circumstances does Petty lose his spot next Friday. Petty lost a couple of marking contests , once when bodied out of position by a team mate. But he presents a very difficult obstacle for opposition teams to pass and score.

I will be personally devastated if Petty goes out !!!!!!!
    I love that guy !!!

The medical diagnoses from afar, presumably with no medical training are hilarious. Keep them up.

Calf awareness compounded but a dull ache in the lower left hand side of his right patella ( or should I say paella )

37 degrees tomorrow. Just be thankful we aren't playing at marvel with the roof closed. I've sat in that ground on a hot day & it's horrible especially when the roof is shut.

And they refuse to turn the air conditioning on in there.

    Ridiculous !!!!!!

  11. The best aspect about this result is not only that both teams miss out on two valuable premiership points but also that it instills great doubt in Carlton players and fans that they'll be any  good in pressure moments in future.
