  1. And to think people question the sanity of some posters here!
  2. Yeah... that was the joke.
  3. DC you appear to have a faulty keyboard p-c problem
  4. Thanks DC, but really it should have been "1 voters" (sic) Getting lazy in my old age.
  5. $50 for an HQ! Not bad! I'll give you $60 for it.
  6. Nice work you agree with yourself, 1 voter.
  7. tiers, do you really think that FD's of any club tell the whole truth to the media? Your conclusion that it is bad treatment entirely to do with the failure to come clean on the story, comes from a fantasy land where the media reports accurately and tells the entire story, where no one lies and everyone knows everything about everyone. I have news for you, such a place does not exist. If you choose to take snippets of information and come to conclusions I say you are speculating. To claim that bad treatment is a fact is ludicrous. For all we know the club could be protecting Jack from a situation far worse than discussed here. So get off the high horse, none of us really know what is going on and probably never will.
  8. This is complete speculation. How would you know what has really happened? How would you know if Jack approached the FD and said he had a problem and needed some time? How would you know if it was off field issues, lack of endeavor at training, a broken hand or smelly feet? We have no idea what is really going on. So far it is most likely spin. Your comments could be construed as distasteful and demeaning of the FD. WE DON'T KNOW, we merely speculate, so before we pillory people we should wait until we have some facts, and not the Trump type.
  9. From :- The Age http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/jake-carlisle-yet-to-lodge-compensation-claim-with-essendon-bombers-20170301-guoi3n.html "Essendon remain mystified as to why they cannot achieve closure with controversial former Bomber Jake Carlisle, who has not yet lodged a compensation claim against the club. "...." But they are understood to have become increasingly frustrated with Carlisle's advisers as they seek to move forward in 2017 and out of the shadow of the drug scandal that has haunted the club for four years. "...."Carlisle's manager Anthony McConville was not available for comment regarding the state of Carlisle's claim. The 25-year-old is being represented by former AFL Coaches Association lawyer Chris Pollard. While it was revealed almost 12 months ago that Carlisle's legal team had linked his 2015 illicit drug use with the trauma of his final three years at Essendon no claim has yet been put to the club." My guess is that there is no financial reason to settle early, and holding out will probably get him a better payout. He may also be waiting on medical tests on himself or & children.
  10. Contracted to Melbourne.
  11. I agree Luci about his passion, loyalty and grit, but my point was his output has been disappointing - due to injuries. Trengove 84 games - Scully 127 - Martin 153 - Cunnington 145. How could we forget in 2008 we picked Scully, Trengove, Gysberts and Tapscott before Fyfe was picked or Bastinac or Carlisle or Gunston, at least we got Gawn right at 34.
  12. DD, the following is a list of draft dissapointments, Jack Watts is not one of them Jim Toumpas Pick 4 2012 Not up to it Lucas Cook Pick 12 2010 No desire Jack Trengove Pick 2 2009 Injuries Tom Scully Pick 1 2009 Liar Sam Blease Pick 17 2009 Leg + ?? Cale Morton Pick 4 2008 Ticker Daniel Bell Pick 14 2002 Concusssions Nick Smith Pick 15 2002 ? Luke Molan Pick 9 2001 Injuries?
  13. I remember him too, he was huge, retired early 1989 I believe he was about 30 and still playing well. On another matter the Australian Sports Drug Agency was formed in 1990 after recommendations from the 1988 parliamentary inquiry into drugs in sport. I am not saying anything, I always wondered.
  14. DL, you are doing my head in, is it or is it not another Jack Watts thread? Yes if he plays well against WCE.
  15. Watched the replay with my son last night and we were impressed with Joel Smiths mighty leap - no mark. We called his father Air Smith, for obvious reasons. My son says "Fresh Air has a great leap". New nickname perhaps?
  16. AF do we have to wait another 18,000 years for the cup?
  17. Punt, you missed the point and rather than using it an opportunity to learn you used is to show yourself up.
