  1. Not sure why we'd panic. Much prefer Hogan on the list over May, even if we play Hogan in defence for the first few weeks of the season, while Lever gets fit. I just don't get why people seem to be scrambling to get May in. Our rebound defence dominated when everything clicked for Lever and that was without frost who clearly should have got a game earlier.
  2. There's having faith in the list management team and there's expecting a fair price, not mutually exclusive.
  3. I think it's pretty ironic that Sydney's into Vanders, he and Alex Johnson played comebacks in the same round. They've just dropped Johnson for being too injury prone. It'd be a pity to see him go, the multitude who are saying no loss, just a fringe player are overlooking the serious competitive edge he brings. He's really handy when he gets going and is great cover if Viney has a period on the sidelines again. Also helps to keep the hard contested work going outside of the centre square.
  4. I reckon we should take both picks to the bank and pick up the twins. I want a premiership but I'm greedy and want a dynasty, we've missed the top end of the draft for too many years for mine. Otherwise, ask for another brayshaw brother and a pick to trade in May.
  5. What do Demonlanders think about pick 5 and Andrew Brayshaw for Hogan?
  6. Same umpire as the gold coast match I think. That was the first time I've been to the MCG this year when the umpiring didn't completely ruin at least a quarter of footy for us, might not be as bad as you all think. ...could have had more to do with the competition that day though.
  7. If he didn't mean to cave his face in surely he would've paused? A bit of shock, some instant remorse? Call a trainer over even? They are supposed to be friends... Unless there's something else in the footage that I didn't see, pretty sure that defence is bs.
  8. I'll tune it up based on the consensus
  9. Anyone who thinks we don't have depth - try fitting in Vandenburg, Harmes, Neal-Bullen, Garland and Bugg to name a handful.
  10. Looking at his draft year, Lever is top 3 in terms of output. Probably top 2 if I wasn't so biased with Petracca. Go back to 2014 - you'd pick Jake Lever with number 1 (Isaac Heeney was an Academy player). Would you swap pick 10 & 14 for pick 1?
  11. Look it's probably about right if next year's first rounder is 16-18. Come On Lever! Premiership here we come - no pressure.
  12. Well [censored]. Jake will be great but we had the leverage, he was willing to walk and there was no way he was going back to the crows. Two firsts for Jake and a 4th - 3rd ain't fantastic. We do have a fantastic backline now though: Hibberd, Tommy Mac, Lever, Hunt, Frost, Jetta. So versatile.
  13. Geelong came out this week and said Watts to Geelong is unlikely due to their ability to get the deal done. The fix to this might be Menzel who's after a longer term contract than the 1-yr offered at Geelong. We could offer him 2-3 years for the trade. Given the risk to his knees pick swaps would be required too. Our second round 28 for theirs 21 or our 3rd round 46 for their Motlop compo pick 35. Thoughts? And if you think it's terrible please let me know what you'd reasonably take instead.
  14. I'm so surprised at all the comments on here, angry that MFC are looking to trade Jack. He's always been timid and defensively hopeless, every chase is a token gesture and he only tackles when the only other option is getting out of the way. Don't get me wrong - great bloke and a perfect finisher but a defensive liability that I'd be happy to see playing at a different club. Might do alright in a Tom Lynch type role with no defensive responsibilities.
  15. http://www.hawthornfc.com.au/video/2016-09-21/afl360-lewis-it-will-be-a-different-feeling-watching Very interesting viewing at the 13th minute of this when the panel start talking trade period. The look on Lewis' face! I know this was filmed pre Brownlow but I'm convinced he must have been thinking of moving on at that point.
  16. Lol 4th round pick? Bs. 3rd easily and them some if we have to. 2 year contract, option to extend based on performance. I will say though, with Lewis and Viney in the same team, opposition and the MRP better watch out!
  17. I tried joining the league today, it's full - what's the story?
  18. I'd like to go around again this year. My team name is: The Superbads
  19. Lol wait what? So... we would've overlooked Ollie Wines, Stringer, Macrae, Menzel, Grundy, Mayes? I don't think so - perhaps we were looking at him with our second rounder but definitely not our first. Collingwood picked him up with 19th.
  20. And then I went back to bed lol. Let's just pretend this question was never posed
  21. Just a thought - no rumours. Could or should we trade for pick number 1? Weideman might be a perfect pick up to play CHF in front of Hogan. If we're lucky they could develop together and be the backbone of our forward line for the next 10 years. What do you guys think? What could get it done?
  22. From afl.com: "Young also provided updates on a few other of his clients. Gold Coast star Jaeger O'Meara was solely focused on rehabilitating his knee and being ready for round one next season, and innuendo surrounding his potential departure was just that."
  23. We'll see, it's a logical move to get a mid back from GC if Howe is being traded that way. Plus, I haven't heard much about us actually using our first pick in the draft, not compared to previous years.
  24. [censored] you all, I offer the same news earlier today in the Jaeger O'Meara thread and I get ripped to shreds. (I even revealed the sauce like an idiot) ashdemons22 says something similar and you hang on his every word :/
