I just watched a replay of the West Coast game and it is hard to remember any situation where Matt Jones disposals impacted. More often than not they were turnovers. It was in sharp contrast to Billy Stretch who is a great decision maker. Bernie Vince has shown you can be a run with player and accumulate possessions that count. Viney is in the same mould - a really beauty. Now that we have a greater core of players to choose from surely Jones has to go, likewise Bail. As much as I have stood up for the Toump I have to concede his turnovers are terrible and happen far too often. Jack Watts use of the ball is top class and he looks so much more comfortable out there.. I doubt the selectors will persist with the 2 rucks, it was a dismal failure against West Coast. Howe is a passenger and has been all year. Those in line for omission are M Jones, Bail, Spencer, Howe and Toumpas. I think Lamumba, JKH, Grimes and maybe Vanders, if fit or Harmes will come in.

Jobe would have been in an untenable position when as Captain he would have been expected to comply with a regime endorsed by his coach and fitness dept. You could accuse him of naivety but not poor character. Up until now his on field leadership has been impeccable, so much so that he was mooted as all Australian captain. Hird and Doc Reid are the ones to be held accountable.

Watson is a huge out for them. He is their only leader of substance and it's hard to see where any inspiration will come from if he's not there. They are full of depth players who are unlikely to spark a revival - a bit like us expecting M Jones, Bail or McKenzie to mount a major turnaround. The only problem is it will be hard to know how much a win would really mean.

All the signs are Goodwin is really committed to the club and this playing group. He's not going anywhere. Heard a conversation on one of the footy shows where they said what a brilliant match day coach he is. Something to look forward to.

Agree. There were many calling for Watts to be dropped too earlier in the season. Since then he has put together a half dozen excellent games and is in career best form. I think Jimmy's confidence is fragile and will only get better with continuity of games.

Likewise I believe he has earned a spot so should be played. Many said Stretch and ANB weren't ready and should be held back. If you're ready you're ready.

Love the guy and can't wait for him to come back.
