I think the players have liked the continuity thing. Most seem happy to stay where under the old arrangements there was a risk of a mass exodus. I am also reassured by PJ. and Josh Mahoney being behind the scenes. Goodwin was marked as a rising star of coaching before his appointment so I can't see where the problem is.

I think it it is best to hold fire until the end of the draft. It seems to me a trade can't be judged in isolation so let's look at the total package before getting too carried away. I am sure there is good reason for what's being done and that there are many subplots and twists being played out. Happy to just sit back and watch what unfolds.

I think having Salem and Melksham coming off the half backline could provide a lot of drive - that has been a weakness of ours for some time. You are not paying overs if a gap is filled and team balance is improved.

If he is being targeted for half back that confirms Grimes is on the outer, as well as the Prince maybe.

The interesting thing I have gleaned from listening to interviews with the Hawks inner sanctum is that Clakson isn't a control freak. He listens to all the stake holders, asks their opinions and makes all involved feel an important part of the team. This inclusiveness sets the tone for the whole club and fosters honest communication and creative thinking. A lot to be learnt from this approach I would think.
