  1. A player in the Swans vs Kangaroos game was just awarded a free kick by propping, dropping the knees, and launching himself backwards into a tackler for high contact. Any guesses which grub picked up on the cheats move of the week?
  2. I didn't think he was any worse than his brother.
  3. When they draw came out I'm sure Roos and co were happy to see a top team the week after the Alice. If we're going to lose it may as well be to a top team rather than a 50/50 chance. But it's no coincidence that since other teams have started playing their run and gun style they are struggling. They're bullies and now are getting a bit back, and I don't think they cope with that game style all that well. I think we'll match up well, if as JC says we manage players this week and bring our best next week. I should add I think we can win this week even if managing players. Again, comes down to bringing our best.
  4. Port appear to have conceded the ruck, as they have a genuine back-up ruckman but aren't naming him. They're roving to the opposition ruckmen, and doing it pretty well based on hit-outs and clearances from the West Coast game. I think there's definitely an argument to play Spencer and make sure there is domination in the ruck, and change our setup slightly to give our rucks the option of just smashing the ball forward (I'm going to call it the reverse diamond ). At least start the game like that to put doubt in their minds. The other thing it does, if they're both smashing into Trengove (especially Spence) it will make him less effective around the ground. The extra ruck resting forward might force them into moving Westhoff back as well. Jetta stops Wingard, Bugg gets into Gray, can TMac handle Dixon??????
  5. If someone has twitter, it would be well worth adding that photo with a caption of: This is not an example of #beastmode
  6. If umps keep paying the frees there's only one way to stop it. Make sure you tackle him with full force. If he ducks he cops it. The only Demon to do that today was Vince, who really made him earn it. Eventually he'll work out that it's not the best approach. Maybe his former teammate Justin Clarke should have a word with him.
  7. That's a fair point. Perhaps the Lions would be more worried about the Bugg that's about to run through them.
  8. I agree, very worried now. I hope there isn't a nasty bug hanging around the club, well not a two legged one anyway.
  9. Write off a young Jones boy at your peril.
  10. If you're still bitter about being called out for not rating a player you later admit you'd never seen play........... .........then you need to build a [censored] bridge and get over it, because you were dead wrong, and time will prove it.
  11. Do you really think that? He's a more reliable kick around the ground and doesn't approach it like that.
  12. Agreed. It definitely feels like that, even in the game's we've won. A lot of the things we fail to react to though are completely expectable. I mean most people on here knew how they'd ruck against Maxy. Why did it take so long for us to wake up? Were they expecting to get simple free kicks? Wasn't going to happen because they play the rule well by looking at the ball - that's not saying they're playing the ball however. But it obviously means they're not actually watching Max and he can get around the tactic, which he did (too) late in the game.
  13. Took too long for Gawn to work out they were just jumping into him in the ruck. Last quarter he hardly bothered jumping and was more effective I thought. He'll be better for the game. Garland isn't up to it anymore. I love him but enough's enough. He could have made a good wingman years back but was stopped by injury and now having to play as a key defender. Not his go. Hogan needs to sort out his run up. It's all for the cameras and he really has to be above that. He's a nice kick, so ditch the theatrics and kick the bastard. ANB should have come in instead of Salem. Salem needed to be shown he has to earn it, whilst ANB would've given us another rotation/option through the guts, but also has the legs to go all day, and get forward and kick a goal. Salem wasn't bad, but for his development he had to earn his spot back. Now for the reason we lost the game. Skills, skills, skills. Demonland has been moaning about the lack of skills for the last 5 years and nothing appears to have changed. In the meantime the dogs appear to be able to dispose of the ball cleanly - without even taking possession. We can't match that. For all the training watchers out there, how often do our lads have a pill in their hands at training? Why does it appear to be a foreign object at times? Oliver is the exception, he's comfortable with it, but even he was down and fumbly today.
  14. Jetta BOG, it's just a shame some of his defensive mates are bogs.
