  1. I think you may have to start getting used to this Nash, it's the new MFC. When was the last time we made 2 unforced changes following a win, and a good win at at that?!? A new benchmark has been set. I fully agreed with you that there's been allowances for disposal inefficiencies as long as the effort was there. That's just all changed and the players now have to be accountable for all aspects of their game. Harmes out for Michie. Harmes has disposal problems, and consistently. He'll be hungrier than ever to work on this and fight his way back in. I'm sure he'll fix it, given his desire, and come back a better player. Michie has destroyed the VFL this year. I watched one of the games online a few weeks ago and to me he missed a lot of targets, but at the same time everyone was saying his efficiency numbers were good. Either way, his overall numbers are undeniable, and I'd be extremely disappointed if we didn't give him a shot in that role to prove himself. He's a direct swap, role for role, with Harmes, and I hope he's upgraded in the draft.. Pedo out for The Pusher. I'm a Pedo fan, he's tough and he does his role regardless. It may not reflect on the stat sheet, but my eyes tell me he's so far in front of Dawes that there's no longer a conversation. However, Weeds is the future and performed well enough on debut to suggest he can not only hold his end up, but improve even further second up, and take some focus off Hoges. Now if what they say's true and he copped a cork in that first marking contest, I think we'll see something pretty spectacular vs Carlton. ANB in for Garlett is somewhat of a surprise as it isn't like for like. Kennedy would have been the obvious option, however ANB has definitely deserved a chance to show what he can do, and in the wet he may be even more valuable than Garlett himself. Only time will tell. I'd consider them aggressive selections in that they aren't the obvious and they're clearly an attempt to improve a winning side. I'm loving it Nash, and I know what Big Kev would say right about now. I'm excited! Make no mistake, we're (sorry, MFC are) making a charge at this years finals - and we'll do a lot of damage if luck sees us through the door.
  2. Does anyone know if there's any drug testing of these banned players during the ban? Considering Essendrug has now managed to turn their cheating program into a number one draft pick (and potentially priority pick), as well as an 'enhanced' salary cap, is there anything to stop the players juicing up to the eyeballs whilst training during the suspension, and then work back from the end of the ban to determine when they need to stop injections so it flows out of their system and can't be detected post-ban? The only issue would be ensuring no tests were done close to the end of the ban, by, I don't know, disappearing on a Euorpean tour, or something. Is there ongoing testing of temporarily banned drug cheats?
  3. Spot on I reckon DR. Rory Lobb's your man, will be a star, and he's already wearing number 37! No idea how that can be made possible though. If he wants out of GWS it won't be for success or more opportunity, would either be number one ruck role, money or mummy's (not Shane) roast lamb. Not sure we can provide him with any of those. Unless Goody does a mean herb crusted lamb......
  4. The initial article mentioned he'd been secretly training with the Scorps and working with Crossy. It didn't say for how long though. With the anouncement I guess I put 1 and 1 together and came up with 3 - that he'd be playing development league this weekend. Does anyone have info on roughly how much training he's done? How much would he need to play development league?
  5. I bet you it can't throw a mean frisbee like Howies dog!
  6. No Maynard, that's disappointing
  7. Interesting timing. Does this mean he's eligible to play for Casey on the weekend? Must be.
  8. This whole placebo thing should have the club nailed for the entire drug cheating program. There is absolutely zero point in placebos unless you are recording the results to identify levels of success. So he's basically admitted now they had kept records. Where are they? What happened to them, and most importantly - why? Guilty [censored] drug cheats!
  9. I think this is the problem a few posters have. He's having a bad run, happens too the best of players, especially early in their careers.
  10. I think you'll find this rule doesn't apply to Hawthorn Biff. Case in point, have a look at the 2nd last mark in their game vs Norf.
  11. I wonder if Derwayne has realised we can still make the 8 yet.
  12. Agreed. I think the lid is officially off.
  13. But we all know you don't learn anything at training and the only thing that's important is doing it on game day. I don't know why they even bother doing any kicking at training. In fact, why bother training at all.
  14. He could have played for his childhood team, fulfilled his dream. He rolled the dice and went chasing a flag with a bunch of pretenders. It's a fine line, pull it off and you're a hero. Fail and you're a w@nker. Or is it the other way around...
  15. Hinkley on Triple M now, sounds like he's got the shits already.
  16. Gotta go hard at this guy, he'll be a superstar and perfect foil for Gawn. Won't be easy but can be done.
  17. Geary a late out helps.
  18. It's all set up perfectly for us, as long as we can get the 3 wins..... The remaining Norf opponents will still be relying on a good percentage to pick up their best final ladder position. They'll both be trying to towel the Roos up big time.
  19. Wow look at those pretty birds..... BANG
  20. I wonder if that includes the head coach........
  21. I think for his last game, anyone making the trip to peelong should wear a Hawaiian shirt under their jumper.
