  1. Buddy Franklin kicked a goal like that last night and all the commentators hands immediately went under the table. Jones does it, meh, good goal, couldn't even manage a replay.
  2. Just watching her centre bounces, I doubt it.
  3. Putting yourself out there brother, a very bold prediction indeed!
  4. Does anyone know the link between Eleni Glouftsis and the EFC? Prior to her umpiring in the NAB Challenge last year she was photographed at EFC training. The match in question was Carlton Vs Essendon. Now she's umpiring her first senior game, which includes (you guessed it) the EFC. A few minutes ago she was handed the match ball by none other than Essendon champion Ken Fraser. Congratulations to her, but what's the deal with her and the EFC?
  5. This is an extremely important game for our entire club. Coming off the back of a brilliant away win, this needs to be another very good win. But more than that, playing a Vic team at the G, this needs to be a big crowd and a profitable day for the club, to show that we are more than viable and deserve better timeslots than we've been getting. I think we'll smash these pretenders good and proper.
  6. Why so negative? Danger, schmanger!
  7. Really? I thought he worked them over far more than the other way round
  8. Fair enough, wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the updates BTW. Where are you getting them from?
  9. Would this explain why Carlton traded all their high picks? If it were to happen there's probably no point in hanging on to them as they'll be diluted to buggery. I reckon roll the dice and use whatever picks we need to get Tayla. She's a star and has a long future ahead. It's a classic Hawthorn style top-up.
  10. I'm not so sure about that. I suffered a terribly bruised thumb on the Atari back in the day. And don't get me started on the beer and pizza bills!!
  11. At one point Tex was having a bit of a crack at someone, can't recall who, and Frosty went up to Tex and gave him a little 'love tap'. Tex spun around to see who it was and saw it was Frosty, and left it at that. I think his number one attribute is his competitiveness, he hates being beaten. Some of his smothers this year have been incredible. Beyond that though, I think his size and speed instill a certain amount of fear in his opponents. Frost on Waite would be intriguing to watch, I hope it happens from the first bounce.
  12. Have another look at the first bounce on the weekend. Who was the first player to get stuck into Sloane?
  13. Having watched the highlights again, I'm a little concerned by Clarrie TBH. In the last qrtr he changed handball options (in almost the opposite direction to where he was going) halfway through execution to find Kent in space who went over the top to Hannan for a goal. Is he human?
  14. And if I remember correctly, he wasn't even playing on Sloane. Prior to the bounce he'd moved over to his man and someone else had picked him up, presumably Bernie.
  15. From watching that video he was definitely bumped and it was high. Carlton players should know better than anyone that any injury will increase the penalty, so this was plain nasty. I hope Gus is ok, but at the same time I'd be ok with a medical report suggesting he take the rest of the year off. What would an appropriate penalty be? I've been on this for a while now, we're getting hammered illegally at VFL level and it needs to stop. What's the latest on Maynard?
  16. And we'll lose hit outs 70-0, while winning clearances 69-1 (that umpire's a [censored], no way that was a free!)
  17. Multi squillion dollar deal?
  18. They really don't like the bouncing do they. How long does it take them to get set after a goal, rubbing the ball on the ground, their hands on their shorts, flattening out the centre of the square. It's getting a bit ridiculous and I'm sure they'll eventually get their way and the bounce will disappear from the game. How about just do your flamin job peanut, or find another.
  19. I thought the writing was on the wall the week before when we didn't bury the druggos when we could've. It was like we took the foot off the pedal, happy to scrape through. We're lacking a killer instinct and you can't win finals without that. We may have a good culture, allegedly, however we certainly don't have a kill or be killed mindset.
  20. I don't think the MRP has a system/formula that can effectively deal with that hit. 4-5 is nowhere near enough for that sort of rubbish. Deliberate, high, hard, is the most it can be calculated as. There needs to be another classification, perhaps [censored] act would work.
  21. That's what I was thinking, don't they have one very specific job to do? I'd love to see a replay to identify exactly what impact it had on the play, but don't have access to any replay. #freekickhawthorn is all I can think of.
  22. For anyone able to watch a replay, at one point (can't remember which quarter) the Hawks had the ball on the camera side of the ground, right in front of the interchange gates. They made an interchange where the incoming player entered the field of play outside of the gates, stealing several metres on his opposite number. He then received the ball in the clear and this led to a Hawks goal. My question, should this have been an instant free kick and 50 metre penalty? Or is this normal? My understanding is all players had to exit/enter through the gates, and if not there would be a free kick plus 50.
  23. Much more appropriate, although those are useful....
  24. A touch unfair to our four legged canine friends.
