That Helen looks a touch young, are we having a late dip at Stringer?
-
Good stuff SWYL, I didn't realise anyone else drank it.

It's interesting seeing the contrasting list development strategies between us and Port. They identify what they can pick up for free and work their game plan around that.We identify players that can play a set role for us and are willing to pay anything for them. Going to be interesting watching both teams through 2018.

Why don't the cats just offer up the next 5 years of first round picks for dusty? Surely the AFL can postpone a little longer?
-
Did the compensation formula take into account the CBA increase?
-
I thought that had all been accounted for. Perhaps Geelong asked extra nicely?
-
Watt changed?
-
Yes good point. If rules don't apply for 1 team they shouldn't apply for any. Would love to see us have a crack at it.
-
I'm not sure if anyone's mentioned it, but if you trade your future Rd1 pick you can't trade any more of your future picks. If we picked one up in a trade we could forward it on, but one of ours not.

Anyone have info on what his defensive pressure is like? If that's up to scratch he'd be a super pick up. If we have a high enough pick....

Apparently it was very sweet and everyone loved it. They called it 'Finals'. -

So, are you blokes in attendance really going to make us ask the question? -
No worries, cheers.
-
Do you have any further information, as in club or player? Hartung's been thrown around in the last day or so, but no mention of us being involved/interested.

This is actually an indication that Watts is staying. Goodwin made it clear to all that if Watts was to stay he'd need to 'get a pair'. Viney was just doing his captain thing and went out to buy some to help Jack.

You see this is where Richmond's Relton Roberts was very unlucky. He was knocked out in Rd3 2010 Vs Sydney and couldn't get up for the match the following week. Rd4 2010 was Melbourne Vs Richmond, and in true Demon form we would've made him look like a [censored] Brownlow Medalist. He may well have gone onto being their premiership captain, rather than 'Careful or my missus will belt ya' Trent. But alas he missed that game and the Dees ran out 55 point winners. A spud like Roberts would've undoubtedly been the difference. Zac Clarke no thanks. I hear Kent Kingsley is coming out of retirement though? Or was it Beau what's his name this week?

At what point is it called corruption? Breaking of an industries laws for the betterment of one particular entity.
-
Yep, so they have a salary cap to equalise the competition, but again, they're allowed to break their own rules and pay certain players outside of that. Anyone that thinks they don't 'fix' matches has rocks in their head for mine. Having said that, I still reckon if he wants to go he'll go. Would love to know how much the AFL are willing to cheat, oops, I mean pay, to keep him at the GCS.

Look at it as an improvement. This year the talk didn't start until our season had finished. In years prior it was non stop from [censored] to breakfast.
-
So if I've got this right, the AFL introduced Free Agency to avoid 'restraint of trade' complaints by players, yet they would somehow restrain one particular players trade to one particular club. Have I got it right? I see what you and others are saying, but surely if Tom wants out, Tom gets out (once his contract expires of course).
-
Don't forget they have the salary cap as well as the compensation cap. If they want those 3 players I hope we don't help them by trading for their rejects, in fact I hope no team does. Let them delist what they have to first and go from there.
-
Given we already have several spots available though? No idea, you might be right, something may have come up.
-
I took it more as there being little interest in him from a trade perspective so we've let him go.

I think Lever is the big fish, but the fish and Cripps would be a delicious trade period!
