  1. What a funny thread. I think we have the answer to the above question. Thank Christ we finally have a team steering the club in the right direction.
  2. Finally a highlights reel (yeah, yeah, I know) that impresses. The kid looks like a goer, good, classy, outside run and carry. Chooses good options and doesn't panic when nothing presents. He also looks strong through the core for a little bloke. Best part of that package for me was the handball from a stoppage that looked like it was to nobody until the runner didn't have to break stride to take the ball right in front to keep his momentum, haven't seen that for a long time in Dees colours. He mentioned in the interview that he lost his dad early this year and that would probably explain his lower form this year. No idea at what pick, but I really hope we get this kid.
  3. I think there's more to the story. For such a basic deal to take forever there must be another component to it that needs sorting out. Whether that be a swap of picks as others have suggested to get GWS the points they need, or another player is being discussed I'm not sure. We have a good history of dealing with them so I wouldn't be surprised at all if there was something else involved here.
  4. Festy, what are your thoughts on my post a few above? Is that an option?
  5. Considering the positions both players are likely to assume, I'd say there's a chance they'll play within a reasonable proximity. I think a 3-4 week ban for a busted nose is well worth it.
  6. Just throwing it out there, but considering the Pies have crashed the party on Howe, what's stopping us from going to GWS with this years Rnd 1 pick and next years for Treloar? Surely GWS would take the punt that our picks would be better than the Pies. We throw a bit extra (almost whatever it takes) at Treloar, because he'd be the A grader we're after and fits the age profile. If Treloar looks like wavering we go down that path. If he looks completely disinterested, no big deal, we go back to Pies and suggest they play fair on Howe or we persevere with Treloar, and look deeper into the dodgy surgery that's gone down. To me it's a no lose situation.
  7. I know a lot on here are disappointed with the players we seem to be targeting, and normally I would be as well to a degree. The way I see it is that Roos is trying to get ahead of the game here, in regards to the reduced rotations and no sub rule. These changes mean players need to remain on the field longer, so Roos is looking for players that can rotate through the midfield/wing, but also hold up a position at HB/HF. So if you look at HB, we should end up with all of Melksham, Bugg (coming in), to add to Salem and H, and to a lesser degree Brayshaw, who can rotate between there and midfield (apologies if I've missed any - apart from Grimes who may or may not be on the way out). At HF I think this is where Kennedy comes in, to add to players like Kent, Garlett, perhaps Petracca, ANB etc. Melksham can also play as a small forward based on some of his highlights. Some are calling it depth, but I'd rather call it versatility, as we're going to see some serious changes to % game time on field in 2016, and I think more than a few of the developing, middle of the road teams, could get caught out in 4th quarters with some very tired young players, being played in unfamiliar positions. As for Melksham, I hated him at Essendon, but he's a Dee now, so all of a sudden I love the (not so) big man, get him up here, I wanna boof him!
  8. Considering Prestia would need much less convincing than O'Meara, and he (DP) only has the year left on his contract, I'd rather pick O'Meara this year and tell DP we'll see him end of next year. Get your body right for 12 months champ and we'll see you then.
  9. Not sure if it's possible to have both. How many players that have moved via FA have stated 'I want to win a trophy', or 'I want to play in finals' etc? That's 100% at odds with equalisation. By doing that you've assisted a top side stay on top, and made it harder for the bottom side that you left to move up the ladder. Sure, some clubs will work their way back up the ladder despite FA, but you have to get almost everything 100% right for it to happen.
  10. If no suitable trade comes up, I'd throw a 1 year contract at him at slightly above average wage and say show me what you've got. You tested the market and it was a bust, you think you're worth a stack of cash - prove it. If he comes good he gets better offers, and/or a better deal with the club. If he doesn't, nothing ventured, nothing gained. Seriously doubt he's best 22 next year, adding Melksham, maybe Kennedy (B) and an A-grader, White coming on, Trenners, Petracca, etc, etc. So if he wants a future, he'll need to earn it via Casey and be putting in 4 quarter efforts.
  11. Really good stuff that, appreciated. I'd love to see those figures aligned to the Hawthorn list. Reckon it would be a tough task assigning equivalent values to their players.
  12. There's also the option that GC will pay part of the contract if we're not wiling to pay the full contracted value, similar to what happened with Woewodin to Pies. With GC coming out and saying he has to go they've opened that possibility, to a certain degree, as they've weakened their bargaining position.
  13. Didn't get to see any of the match, are we no longer on the market for a half back with good skills, and run and carry?
  14. Free kicks 22-6, reckon that's more than 4 goals start..... They can't be fair dinkum.
  15. Sending him a message I reckon, 'We know how good you can be but you need to bring it every week. Have a big pre-season and get some consistency about you, or this is what your 2016 will hold!' Then again, I could be the one having a hold.....
  16. I still think the Benny Hill music is appropriate for during the match.
  17. Our players should stay on the ground at half-time, with the Auskickers. Might pick up some skills.
  18. He always looked like he'd be a player, but more of a small forward type. He's exploded since he got into the midfield and fits our needs as well. We should definitely have a look, but not sure on contract status?
  19. Just doing some research, there's something not right here. Last year he knocked back free agency and re-signed with the Crows for 4 years. Now they come out and say he's not best 22 and future uncertain? Is it just a rocket to fire him back into form perhaps?
  20. Roos said this week he thought the players had finished early, which is far more embarrassing
