  3. Well this thread can almost be closed.
  4. PART THREE - DEJA VU I was shocked to read that Adelaide’s Alex Keath has gone through medical examinations at both the St Kilda and the Western Bulldogs which uncovered the fact that he had a stress fracture in his leg. It brought back painful memories of the time a few years back when then Demon Jack Trengove paid a visit to the Richmond club doctor who diagnosed a serious foot injury and ended any chance of a trade to the Tigers. As a consequence, Melbourne missed out on selecting Jake Lever in the national draft and the rest is history. The Crows are looking bad. It’s bad enough that half their team wants out, but their medical staff seems to have botched Keath’s recovery when they diagnosed the stress fracture weeks before the end of the season and decided that it wasn’t serious enough to warrant surgery. Keath has since had an operation and will now be out of action for four months - his suitors are so unimpressed that they are rethinking their offers for his transfer. Needless to say there’s no trade on the immediate horizon for the hobbled Crow. There were no trades anywhere else on the horizon with the Joe Daniher deal remaining in limbo. The Bombers remain on everyone’s radar with forward Orazio Fantasia set to announce a preference to join Port Adelaide now that he’s decided on a new manager and the club is also said to have been in talks with Collingwood about the availability of Mason Cox (presumably a replacement for Daniher when they eventually sit down and talk trades). There will be no trade for Collingwood high-flyer Jamie Elliott who has decided to remain with the Pies, signing the reported two year deal on offer. Meanwhile, Brisbane has given out of favour duo Tom Cutler and Lewis Taylor their blessings to explore finding a new home. Good luck with that! So the second day of the trade period is over without a trade and less than a handful of free agency outcomes. It’s like watching paint dry. DONE DEALS SATURDAY OCTOBER 5 • Brandon Ellis joins the Gold Coast Suns as a restricted free agent. Richmond receives a second-round draft pick as compensation (at the time, #39). • Cam Ellis-Yolmen joins Brisbane as an unrestricted free agent. Adelaide receives a third-round draft pick as compensation (at the time, #47). MONDAY OCTOBER 7 • Adam Tomlinson joins Melbourne as an unrestricted free agent. GWS Giants receive a second-round draft pick as compensation (at the time, #40).

Also getting rejected for that sort of money is such a Norf game thing to do. At least when we pay overs the players come to us.
  7. If you can't laugh at yourself ...

Which is why I don't want to part with it. I'm not sold on splitting the pick either to land a Papley.

Agreed. We simply cannot afford the asking price. In my opinion he's not going to choose one of the lowly clubs over another based on premiership prospect. Dollars (along with compensation to Sydney) are going to be the deciding factor. We may be able to match the compo but not the cashola.

Seems Carlton are willing to part with one deservedly or not.
  11. I'm not looking for smiles on the field. I want heads ripped off. No more bruise free football.
  12. Everyone looks better in Demons gear.
  13. Tomlinson: I’m super excited. I caught up with Goody a few times + the characteristics of the footy club really aligned with me. We’ve spoken about playing a consistent role next year + really getting some continuity in my footy. Tomlinson: A lot of people talk about talent, but it doesn’t mean much if you don’t work hard. I’m looking forward to working really hard with this group, getting stuck into a big pre-season. Tomlinson: I scratched the surface in 2018 in terms of my form - I performed a lot better than I did this year. I think I’ve got a lot more to give + I can’t wait to get stuck in. Tomlinson: It’s been an emotional time, having only finished playing a couple of weeks ago. I thank GWS for everything over the past eight years, but I’m very excited to be here. Tomlinson on his off-season: I think I start in six weeks, so it’ll be straight back into it. I’ll get things sorted in Sydney, before resetting + getting ready for pre-season. I can’t wait.
  14. Lever travelled to the USA at the beginning of 2019 in an attempt to fast track his rehab from his ACL injury but his return had to wait until mid season. After that, his season was interrupted by some niggling ailments and as a result, we rarely saw him at his best in 2019. Baby steps. Back on topic. I really don't know much about Papley but here are some of his first half of 2019 highlights.

I'm surprised the AFL hasn't forced us to change our name to avoid this type of confussion. The Goschs Demons has a nice ring to it.
