If ever there was an example of money (greed?) taking precedence over public health and safety (even if it's just a potential risk) this is it.

16-a-Side to Fix Scoring
Just Great!!! Just when the cavalry arrives and we finally get some decent wingmen they want to take them away from us. âWe don't want to be like soccerâ: Alastair Clarksonâs radical solution to fix AFL scoring drought Hawthorn coach Alastair Clarkson has urged the AFL to âpull a leverâ and consider trialling 16-a-side rules to address the leagueâs dramatic scoring drop â because âwe don't want to be like soccerâ. And the four-time premiership coach admits he and other coaches with a defence-first attitude have played a role as to why âno bugger can score anymoreâ. Despite a raft of changes that were originally intended to promote goalkicking, AFL scoring reached a historic low in 2019, with the average team score being just 80.4 points â the lowest since 1967, when teams averaged 78.8 points.

Agreed. Just a humble aggregator of Demon news. good, bad or ridiculous.- What is missing to win a flag?
I didn't think so. Cheers.- What is missing to win a flag?
Are they related?- Spine Rankings
We've rated, analysed and ranked every AFL club's 'spine'. Full rankings (and list of players) here ? AFL Spine Rater: Every clubâs five key positions rated, ranked and analysed MELBOURNE FB: Steven May (8.3 AFL Player Ratings points) CHB: Jake Lever (8.1) C : Clayton Oliver (13.7) CHF: Tom McDonald (8.1) FF: Sam Weideman (7.5) Experience: 480 AFL games Champion Dataâs combined Official AFL Player Ratings ranking: 16th (45.7) Analysis: As the ratings total is based purely off last year, the Dees are down the bottom of the Champion list. But the prospect of May and Lever playing a full season is a tantalising prospect for Dees fans, especially after their performances against Hawthorn in the Marsh Series last week where they both had 21-plus disposals and seven-plus intercepts. Oliver, whoâs only 22, should take big steps forward this season after taking part in the clubâs intense off-season running program, while McDonald is surely a better player than the 18-goal one we saw last season. Weideman, however, is still somewhat raw. But overall, this spine looks brilliant on paper. Foxfooty.com.auâs ranking: 8th- Coronavirus & Other Sports

Never to early to cast our eyes ahead. PLAYER INJURY ESTIMATED RETURN Blake Acres Hamstring 6-8 weeks Joel Hamling Ankle 9-11 weeks Stephen Hill Quad TBC Jesse Hogan Mental health Indefinite David Mundy Leg TBC Alex Pearce Ankle 3-4 weeks Nathan Wilson Toe 3-4 weeks Updated: Tuesday, March 10 Early prognosis Andrew Brayshaw had his foot stomped on during the win against West Coast and he underwent scans that cleared him of any break. The Dockers have not put a timeframe on Stephen Hill's return after he sustained another quad injury. Blake Acres' hamstring tendon injury is serious and he could miss up to eight weeks. Joel Hamling's ankle injury remains the long-term concern for the club, while David Mundy, Alex Pearce and Nathan Wilson lifted the intensity of their running and are pushing for early-season returns, potentially in the first month. Hayden Young is having his training loads managed and was left out of the team that played West Coast. - Nathan Schmook - Coronavirus & Other Sports
