MELBOURNE will induct former captains David Neitz and Shane McGrath into the club’s Hall of Fame when it holds its 10th anniversary of the Foundation Heroes. Foundation Heroes was founded in 2008 by the late, great Jim Stynes. This year’s event will be open for all members and supporters to attend – not just for Foundation Heroes. Neitz, one of Melbourne’s greatest ever players, featured in a club record 306 games from 1993-2008. He captained the club in 175 matches from 1998-2008 and kicked a career total of 631 goals – both club records in their respective statistics. McGrath, who captained Melbourne in 1950, was a member of the club’s 1941 premiership. Despite missing three seasons due to war service, he later returned to play in Melbourne’s 1948 side. He is regarded as one of Melbourne’s greatest full backs. This year’s Foundation Heroes event promises to be a special night of celebration and fundraising. 2017 Foundation Heroes – details Date: Wednesday 31 May Venue: Melbourne Town Hall Time: 6.30pm for 7pm Dress: Lounge suit Tickets: $275 per person Includes sit-down gourmet dinner, a premium beverages package and first class entertainment Current players, directors and members of the MFC Hall of Fame will be in attendance Click here to purchase tickets http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2017-04-28/greats-to-be-honoured-at-foundation-heroes

  4. I didn't think of that but yes I am. That's another almost 5 grand.
  5. Merchandise that was purchased yesterday and this morning has shipped. Demonland Merchandise can be purchased here: http://demonland.com/forums/store/category/3-merchandise/
  6. Congrats to Chirstian Petracca on his AFL Team of the Week spot. A handy player to have on the bench. I guess congrats can also go to Lynden Dunn. Dunny was a loyal servant of our club so I'm happy so see his face up there as long as I don't take a peek at his current jumper. I forgot to post last weeks team so congratulation go to Michael Hibberd on his nomination on the half back line.
  7. I worked out that it cost about $2,847.00 per year barring any tech support with our hosting company that usually requires a $30 day pass. I also like to send Nasher a few Demonland bucks every so often as a token of appreciation for him being available on call 24/7 and for the pain and suffering he endures by spending time in the match day threads especially when we are losing. I've increased the target to $3000 so hopefully that covers the costs of running the site for the entire year ahead. There are a lot of ways you can help us out. You can take out a Demonland Annual or Lifetime Subscription to remove the ads that you see on Demonland: http://demonland.com/forums/store/category/2-subscriptions/ If you are already a Subscriber and would like to assist further you can always donate to Demonland: http://demonland.com/forums/clients/donations/ If you want to help out Demonland and also look cool doing it you can purchase some Demonland branded merchandise: http://demonland.com/forums/store/category/3-merchandise/ Thank you for any help that you can give. I truly do appreciate it.
  8. CATS STRIKE by Ice Station The Casey Demons were literally blown off the park in the space of a few minutes on either side of the half time break against Geelong VFL at Simonds Stadium on Saturday afternoon and ultimately lost the game by six goals. The Demons were opposed to a stronger, taller and far more experienced Cats outfit and were always going to be up against it, especially after they lost back up ruckman Declan Keilty who was concussed in the very early stages of the game. This left youngster Mitch King, in only his second game back after a knee reconstruction and a further injury which cut deeply into his pre season as the team's only true big man on the ground following the club's rash of injuries. King battled manfully but had to cope with a number of talls in the home team's lineup which included the seasoned Rhys Stanley who also drifted forward to boot three goals for the game. Casey was restricted to just 11 AFL listers including rookies and had a bevy of VFL youngsters in the team. The game also marked the debuts of Frankston Dolphins player Nathan Gardiner and 27 year old on baller Sean Dwyer from Lang Lang. Casey was more than competitive in a four low-scoring struggle despite the Geelong's edge in experience in the first half and led by 8 points late in the second term. The Cats struck them a major blow with two goals in the the last two minutes including one on the siren and then opened the second half strongly booting three unanswered goals in the first 10 minutes to skip away to a 20 point lead. The teams went goal for goal to three quarter time. Casey vice-captain Angus Scott was the saviour again with a couple of goals as the depleted Demon forward line struggled to impact the scoreboard. Scott was his team's only goal scorer in the final term as a stronger and faster Geelong raced away to a six goal victory. The visitors were once again well served by Jack Trengove (27 touches) who was particularly instrumental in his team's strong showing early in the game. Defender Josh Wagner who has had an injury riddled past couple of months returned in good form in defence and Dean Kent had a much better game this week. Experienced Casey listed players Mitch Gent, James Munro lent valuable support to team leaders Jack Hutchins and the goalkicker in Scott but overall the home side was too good finishing with 10 goals to Casey’s four in the second half. Although the team is only outside the top eight on percentage, it will struggle to keep in touch as long as Melbourne's injury woes continue. This week's opposition Werribee also has just one win to its credit but poses another tough assignment at Hoppers Crossing on Sunday. 10. It's $60 and $25 now. Go here and follow the prompts. http://demonland.com/forums/store/category/2-subscriptions/
  11. Thanks for all the generous donations and to those taking out subscriptions and to those purchasing the merchandise. It is very much appreciated. They were supposed to start the migration at 10pm so we could be down at any moment. See you on the other side.
  12. Working on a very special guest for this week (possibly next) and hopefully live. Trust me you won't want to miss this. Stay tuned.
  13. I really don't want anyone who can't afford it to have to contribute. This is not mandatory. If you can spare it then it is much appreciated. I don't want anyone inconveniencing themselves or their families.
  14. That would free up space on the entire internet.
  15. I think Nasher is alluding to the fact that the software becomes more bloated each time it updates. They include a lot of features that are either unnecessary or rarely used.

  19. Are you implying that Nasher has no idea what he is doing?
  20. I checked and your subscription runs out of the 18/5/17. You should be notified closer to the date.
  21. Looks like you are already an Annual Member so you don't need to renew or can't until the year is up. If you would like to contribute another way you can always do the one off donation. http://demonland.com/forums/clients/donations/ Thank you for your continued support.
  22. Thanks George. It is much appreciated. I should be paying you for the great match reports you do and for the hard work you put in moderating this site. Thank you.
  23. There is going to be some scheduled downtime today while we upgrade the storage space on our servers. Demonland is growing all the time and this growth is requiring us to expand our home. This upgrade unfortunately comes with a significant rise in costs to our monthly web hosting and other associated costs in running Demonland. I haven't come cap in hand this year as I have done the past few years but I'm afraid I have to now. I'd also like to throw a few Demonland dollars Nashers way as he's always in the trenches during outages. There are a few ways you can help us out. You can take out a Demonland Annual or Lifetime Subscription to remove the ads that you see on Demonland:http://demonland.com/forums/store/category/2-subscriptions/ If you are already a Subscriber and would like to assist further you can always donate to Demonland: http://demonland.com/forums/clients/donations/ If you want to help out Demonland and also look cool doing it you can purchase some Demonland branded merchandise: http://demonland.com/forums/store/category/3-merchandise/ Thank you for any help that you can give. I truly do appreciate it. The site may be down for some time during the day whilst the upgrade is happening.
