426 Update

426 supposedly doing very nicely for the move from box hill to balwyn!!

were vermont that good, balwyn that bad or a combination of both? saw them vermont round 1 against east ringwood and the size of their midfielders is frightening!!

by the sounds of it a combo of both.

Balwyn's "prize recruits" from all reports didn't want to be there when it got a little bit hard *cough*Bowden*cough*

and the reason Vermont's midfielders are huge is because they do a weights session just about every day of the week - including before training

Tigers smashed by Noble Park today. 426 again very very ordinary.

The kid seems lost @ this level also, Round one was one out of the box , since then been shocking.

However the Presidents Lunch today sensational.

MC 'd by Tony Jones

Guest Speakers -

Kris Barlow Captain Coach Noble Park.

Trent Croad - yes playing tonight but still got along for a chat. Channel 9 camerera's along for his segment.

I think it was Chris Jones from the Sunday Footy Show on the story

Luke Darcy - Funny guy.

Steven Milne - Very interesting comments about Grant Thomas. Did not get along!

Adam Ramanskas

Daniel Harford.

Amazing line up for a local Footy president's lunch.

All speakers where great especially Trent Croad talking about what The Big Vt means to him.

Trust me these guy's will be fair dinkum tonight.

&

Adam Ramanskas - Wow what an inspirational story & speaker.

Bottom Line 426 - Not earning his cash & clearly the correct decision by The Dee's to delist.

Sadly all show & NO GO.

WAFL from bye weekend: I had promised a report on daniel rich from the Subi v. East Perth game but the under-18s weren't playing because of state duties. subi beat the royals by 72pts without rich, philthy phil read (susp) & daniel chick (susp). two small forwards trent dennis-lane & raphael stack were good for subi. also adam cockie who, I think, will go early in the draft. obviously over 18. in other WAFL news, woey had his first win as a coach of e. freo.

Bottom Line 426 - Not earning his cash & clearly the correct decision by The Dee's to delist.

Sadly all show & NO GO.

From all reports Simon Godfrey has been pretty average for Norwood as well.

Good fitness and size about him but butchers the ball by foot according to someone I go to tradeschool with that plays for Knox

neaves ferguson n browns team doing shocking wests 0 6 so far

Do you want to decipher that?

  • PREVIEW: St. Kilda

It seems like only yesterday that these two sides faced off against each other in the centre of the continent. It was when Melbourne was experiencing a rare period of success with five wins from its previous six matches including victories over both of last year’s grand finalists.  Well, it wasn’t yesterday but it was early last month and it remains etched clearly in the memory. The Saints were going through a slump and the predicted outcome of their encounter at TIO Traeger Park was a virtual no-brainer. A Melbourne victory and another step closer to a possible rise into finals contention. Something that was unthinkable after opening the season with five straight defeats.

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.
