Members Packs 2009

Soon we will have a new CEO who hopefully will be a breath of fresh air and reinvigourate our off-field activities.

One of the area's that has come in for criticism is the delivery and contents of members packs.

As paying customers we have the right to [censored] and moan.

As demonlanders we also have the opportunity to share our thoughts about what we'd like to see in a members pack. So, given that Jennifer Hawkins & Megan Gale are probably out of the question, what would you like to see in your's?

I'll kick it off, I'd like a CD of the Club Song...by the Fable singers of course

What would you like to see in your 2009 packs?

Some ideas which could lure younger supporters to buy a membership:

1- a free Melbourne ring-tone (you can claim online by entering your membership barcode)

2- a red and blue USB or MP3 player. You can get these very cheap if you buy in bulk

3- an AM/FM radio we can take to the footy.

I actually think it would be great if we got given a choice, which we could select when refilling our renewal/application forms. That way everyone gets what they want, and the club doesn't spend money on crap that nobody likes.

For example, this year we should have been given a choice between a cap, a scarf or a tie.

After five consecutive defeats, the Demons have now notched up back-to-back victories, comfortably accounting for the Tigers in the traditional ANZAC Eve clash. They surged to a commanding 44-point lead early in the final quarter before easing off the pedal, resting skipper Max Gawn and conceding the last four goals of the game to close out a solid 20-point win.

It's Game Day and the Demons return to the MCG to face the Tigers in their annual Blockbuster on ANZAC Eve for the 10th time. The Dees will be desperate to reignite their stuttering 2025 campaign and claim just their second win of the season. Can the Demons dig deep and find that ANZAC Spirit to snatch back to back wins?

  • PREVIEW: Richmond

A few years ago, the Melbourne Football Club produced a documentary about the decade in which it rose from its dystopic purgatory of regular thrashings to the euphoria of a premiership victory. That entire period could have been compressed in a fast motion version of the 2025 season to date as the Demons went from embarrassing basket case to glorious winner in an unexpected victory over the Dockers last Saturday. They transformed in a single week from a team that put in a pedestrian effort of predictably kicking the ball long down the line into attack that made a very ordinary Bombers outfit look like worldbeaters into a slick, fast moving side with urgency and a willingness to handball and create play with shorter kicks and by changing angles to generate an element of chaos that yielded six goals in each of the opening quarters against Freo.
