It's called Melbourne Sports Books and I think its close to the intersection of Flinders and Exhibition Streets. I doubt that they'll have the two MFC histories wiz mentioned although they probably have Lynda Carroll's later book.

I have a copy of the 1958 book that my parents gave me years ago. It is a good read taken at a time when the CLub was powerful and successful. An interesting perspective.

The 1983 book is pretty ordinary read with some focus on players since 1958 who do not deserve the amount of book space devoted to them. Its also replete with the awful red and royal blue guernsey photos. Lynda Carroll's book on the 140 years is better.

I am looking forward to the 150 years book.

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
