Chelly's Phantom Pre Season Draft

Featured Replies

I don't think we'll take Sampi because of the "Pickett factor". I'd be happy with Kangars.

What time is it all going down??

11am and finishes not long after.

I believe the rookie draft is straight after.

interesting that he could play in the sandy firsts without at least being on a weights program...

if thats truely the case i would expect summer to be about strengthening him up in the gym and teaching him how to kick on the track, as well as standard fitness stuff.

i've just checked our website and he is already 95kg. if he hasnt been doing weights he is a big boy...

edit:(apparently rex hunt called for him to be drafted in 2006! herald sun link

Have to say I'm pretty surprised that Ryley Dunn was picked up so late in the rookie draft. Many people had him being picked up early in the PSD. There must be some problems there.

  • REPORT: Hawthorn

The final score in Saturday's game against Hawthorn was almost identical to that from their last contest three months ago. Melbourne suffered comprehensive defeats in both games, but the similarities ended there. When they met in Round 9, the Demons were resurgent, seeking to redeem themselves after a lacklustre start to the season. They approached the game with vigour and dynamism, and were highly competitive for the first three quarters, during which they were at least on par with the Hawks. In the final term, they lapsed into error and were ultimately overrun, but the final result did not accurately reflect their effort and commitment throughout the match.

  • CASEY: Box Hill

The Casey Demons ended the regular season on a positive note and gained substantial momentum leading into the finals when they knocked the Box Hill Hawks off the top of the VFL ladder in their final round clash at Casey Fields. More importantly, they moved out of a wild card position in the finals race and secured a week's rest as they leapfrogged up the ladder into fifth place with their decisive 23-point victory over the team that had been the dominant force in the competition for most of the season.
