I was watching Melbourne vs Adelaide semi-finals 2002 MCG right and im just wondering, Why would the AFL that year put Melbourne as an away team when we r suppose to be the home team against Adelaide which were the home side.

We were the away team because the match should have been played at Football park. The Crows had earned that right by finishing top 4 but because the AFL still had to play a final at the MCG, we were billed as the 'away' team.

Just one of the quirks of the system at the time. We were lucky that it was played at the 'G. Imagine if it was played at AAMI, we may have been completely blown out of the water !
