Cousins to the NFL????

Featured Replies

Driving home from work this arvo I heard an interesting caller to the Sport Show on 5aa!

This bloke is American and apparently he was speaking to his mate who lives in San Diego....

His mate asked him "Who is this Ben Cousins guy? Geez, he can sure kick a football!!"

The caller refused to name any clubs/names but it seems that maybe Ben is having a punt with an NFL side....

Just a rumour that I found interesting....

Darren Bennett's name was mentioned during the call....

good luck to him...he aint coming near junction oval, thats for sure

Yeah, exactly....

NFL? Good riddance. From the look of things he'll be right at home.

he will fit right in playing in the NFL...

but most likely a load of BS... how far can he kick, he isn't a small kick, but not a monster by any means either...

There is more positions in the NFL than punter.

However I cannot see Ben Cousins suited to any of them.

I agree. I watch a fair bit of the stuff, I find it addictive for some reason, and I can't see Cousins being suited to any position, including punter. He has plenty of endurance but that won't help him much in a game that stops and starts like the NFL, and he couldn't compete with the raw athleticism that all the African-American players have.

His new sport will be getting into Hollywood starlets' (tartlets?) pants

exactly, doesn't have the acceleration or the brute strength... put this in the same pile that he's hooking up with cameron diaz over there...

Not a particular challenge there ;) !!!

HAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHA!!!

Cousins would NEVER make the cut!

Rocca is not doing all that well, so what the hell do people think cousins could bring to the world of punting??

This is BULL, and will never happen!

  • PREVIEW: Brisbane

They really had me fooled when I picked them with great confidence to beat the Bombers at Gather Round last week. I should have recognised that nothing is more quintessentially Melbourne than defeating the undefeated early premiership favourite one week and losing to a winless cellar dweller on its way to establishing a record losing streak the next.
