Trapper to the Dockers?

Featured Replies

I would only be looking to trade Trapper if we were getting Judd, it's a bit of a 1 step back two steps forward scenario. I'm worried about how many players are being shopped around from our side this year, surely it can't be good for club moral, especially if players we put up aren't traded.

The players have got to understand that they are accountable for their actions, and their performance. Daniher was a bit of a wet fish, but that's no excuse for them serving up the garbage they did at times. Injuries are the major reason our 2007 was a disgrace, but the application of some players at times was extremely dubious at best. Some of the players should be damn glad that they still have a club. 2-3 more could easily have gone the way of Godders and Ward.

We are in the business of winning Premierships. We can't do that with a pile of deadwood lying on top of us.

I do agree about Trapper. I would much rather see Bruce go before him. I think TJ might be the one who is able to benefit most from the arrival of a new coach.

But imagine how crap we'll be next year if we lose our leading goal kicker and classiest midfielder.

My preference would be to retain Trapper rather than lose him...but its only a preference, not a must have. I too think he might be a different lad under Bailey ( I think a few might be...pmsl !! ) .

Now Robbo.. leading goalkicker. well isnt this a classic case of context. Who was he competing against ?? ..a bunch of walking wounded and some who cant kick straight to save themselves !! Juice came into it late otherwise he would've shown Robbo clean set of heels in that comp !!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
