Brock McLean

sylvinator, im not sure if it becomes 'shallow' after the top 20, or if it is just normal after the top 20, whereas in the so called super draft(s), players who might normally be rate top 15 were spread out to 25-30...

I don't see and will not accept Brocky going anywhere.

If McLean wanted out, there will be 15 clubs making enquiries.

He will be in line for the captaincy, if not next year, then certainly the year after.

Richmond are desperate to get some quality onto their list. They should realise though that they haven't got anything we want.

Besides, I can't see us talking to anyone but Judd right now. He is priority number 1, 2 and 3.

In terms of "not talking to anyone but Judd" i think you've missed the point. The whole topic is around getting Judd and that would be the ONLY reason we would be discussing trading McLean with anyone. Richmond potentially do have something we want as well...pick 2 if that was going to be the key to getting Judd.

So even though I hope it doesn't happen and don't think it will happen it is completely tied to getting Judd to Melbourne so wouldn't be completely out of the question.

Personally I dont think a 'super draft' can be called a 'super draft', till at least 3 seasons later. No one knows for absolute sure what this draft will deliver.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 2 Jacob van Rooyen

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
