Conspiracy theory on "Tanking"

I now look forward to seeing a pumped up Carlton, win the remainder of their matches under the watchful eye of Ratten, who will then be appointed head coach, leaving us with Voss and an early pick ;)

But no Fevola who is out with a mystery thigh strain for 2 to 3 weeks.

Bet he does not play again with them.

Pffft, they don't need Fevola to win.

Josh Kennedy will rule supreme and kick 50 goals in the remaining 6 matches ;)

Go Carlton!

I notice that Mike Sheahan and Garry Lyon discuss this matter in the H-Sun today. Either side would be MAD to win rnd 22. BUT.......someone's going to have to!

Why could the AFL not realise such a farcical match was a possibility when it created its priority draft system?Surely the Blues won't succumb to a shell-shocked Collingwood! If only they beat them, then we can have a real crack too,in round 21, and stuff up their finals chances!

couldnt we accidently turn up to Princess park.. forfeiting it !! lol

Not if the system is changed at the end of the previous season where all teams clearly know the rule changes.

sorry i think you missed my point, which agrees with yours. something needs to be done, and i believe it should be done at the end of the year.

however the afl could well change it now and argue 'it doesnt matter' because you should be trying to win anyway...they argued this last year when they changed the priority pick rules...

if it comes down to a lose/lose game in round 22, dont be surprised if they change the rules again. or contact both carlton and melbourne and suggest that money might be at stake if the game isnt hard fought...

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
