I get very little out of my MCC/MFC Dual membership, its more of a donation.
I pay the Premium and aside from supporting the club, I get very little direct benefit

...and that is another example of the complete lack of strategy that has bedevilled our club for years.

Despite long time association with the MCC and the MFC, the MCC absolutely creams the money. Do MCC members who support the MFC go to 12 cricket games a year?

Yet where does the money for the MCC membership go....and has gone for the past 50+ years? Who gets the ground advertising money? Who sells the catering contracts?

The last time I saw numbers, MFC support within the MCC was in the order of 20-25%. Yet as @roy11 notes, any support he provides to the MFC is essentially a donation.

Our relationship with the MCC has to be revisited to provide some real equity, but I doubt it will ever happen, as it will require them to give up the "cash cow" that they currently have.

And that is only part of the problem. Good on the Dogs and the Saints for what they have done. It's not about trying to sign up already (un)committed supporters. It is all about signing up new and future supporters.

It is proper strategy, but that requires a forward thinking Board and CEO. We have neither.....

How about replicating what the Saints did? Offer every schoolkid in Casey a free 3 game membership? It costs nothing but you have their name and maybe their heart. 10 years ago there were 2000 families moving into the area every year. About 4-5000 kids every single year! Yet what have we done to attract future support?

The Saints offered in addition to the kids in the SMJFL, a $1 membership. Just to get names. The Suns have offered a $1 membership this year if you sign up for the following year. What are we offering for the future?

I know we have had trouble on field and in the lockroom but I would immediately be gutting the marketing and membership departments. To lose that amount only four years after a flag... that is just absolutely shocking. Really reminds me of 90s Melbourne, run like an amateur club that hasn't moved into the professional era.

I have both Melbourne and Carlton Memberships and can confirm the CFC membership team are far more professional and proactive. When I have dealt with MFC membership on the phone they are very polite and helpful but Carlton membership dept are regularly sending me texts that my CC is about to expire and I may want to update my CC details. They are like polite debt collectors 😁

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Richmond

Round four kicks off early Saturday afternoon at Casey Fields, as the mighty Narrm host the winless Richmond Tigers in the second week of Indigenous Round celebrations. With ideal footy conditions forecast—20 degrees, overcast skies, and a gentle breeze — expect a fast-paced contest. Narrm enters with momentum and a dangerous forward line, while Richmond is still searching for its first win. With key injuries on both sides and pride on the line, this clash promises plenty.
