Thanks Whispering Jack.

King's birthday round may be the deciding factor if we play finals this year. Not the final say if lost but we beat the Saints and then Pies currently on top spot, I think we will be in the final eight. Big call and a huge turnaround but given the players returning to form and the youngsters coming through, an understanding one.

We are playing footy light years away from last year and even earlier than just six weeks ago. To see Fritta, Oliver, Salem and KP and JM all back and showing form, gives us huge cause for hope . Although Fritta has a fair way to go, I think he may be turning the corner. And speaking of turning, Disco continues to delight alongside his mate . We have the unfortunate luxury of managing Tmac. And with Jvr and Jeffo seemingly playing well at Casey last week maybe some selection headaches for a fwd line will soon occur. AJ already doing his bit.

The proverbial part season of 2 halves

From the ridiculous to the sublime (not quite sublime but close enough)

I'll pay sublime the last two games. Your esteemed opinions for the change BDA?

The fitness change has been obvious but I wonder how in such a short space.

As mentioned KP and JM huge factors for our scores but there must be more.

Obviously winning has lifted morale but the blokes look like they care about each other more. The manner goals are celebrated and the sticking up for others.

Im sure Cwood will try it on and I'm looking forward to our response.

i think its a case of the work being done on the track for the last 12 months or so finally coming to fruition

Freo game was a catalyst . it all came together thaks to kossie and Max

we've growing in confidence and belief in the plan

i expect plenty more wins this season

might have left too much to do to get to finals but the season is well and truly alive

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
