Max

  • Max Gawn is the difference between us winning and losing, I’m not looking forward to seeing the hit out to advantage differential, if we do win it will be a Herculean effort. I’m hopeful but not expecting.

  • Based on last years game vs Dees, and the fact he has been made an emergency, it wouldn't surprise me to see Baily come in as a late change to do a job on Gawn.

  • I recall last year in the game where we beat them, Bailey put a lot of work into Gawn off the ball, he constantly blocked and bumped him and stopped him from easily running to positions to intercept- almost like a scragging tag. Really put him off his game and reduced his effectiveness, even if he didnt win the hit outs. Ill be looking for similar tactics to annoy the [censored] out of him and shift his focus.

  • When it's such a big discrepancy in quality in ruckman it's actually easier to plan for. Midfield sets up to rove to Max's taps everytime and Baileys job was just to put some physicality into him

Everything else

  • Hough in the midfield is exciting because he isn't a panic merchant. Would seem a good matchup for Petracca

    • We're not allowed to talk about weights anymore so I wouldn't know

    • They are both beautiful on the inside. Well maybe not Trac after King's Birthday last year. Too soon?

  • Sure I Saw Steven May wandering through the city last night. Didn’t expect to see Melbourne players in so early, thought they’d have flown in today. Unless he came in seperately.

    • Did he take a swing at you?

    • That's a good sign, when we beat them last I saw Gawn, and two other Demons walking along Railway Pde in West Leederville.

  • Going to be really grim if we cannot put in a cracking showing. That being said, I think we do it to the Demons again with:

    • May moving like a 60 year old McGovern

    • Trac being Reid's bunny

    • Gawn being Flyin's launch pad

    • Fritsch burning his team mates left right and centre

    • Petty being the biggest source of falling moisture on Optus this Saturday

    • And most importantly, they won't have any footy boots after Oliver confused what was actually in the "Gear Bag", when he pinched off the bus before they left to go to the airport.

  • Dees are the only team ranked worse than us in 4th quarters this season

  • West Coast by 45. Harley 3 Votes.

  • Owies to have a break out game.

  • Oliver out is massive. He’s not had his greatest year but he’s their best clearance player by a mile. Not beyond realms of possibility we get up this week

    • His clearances have usually involved blindly bombing it long to the oppositions defenders though.

  • Coach has some inside knowledge on Melb, albeit a changed game style now.

  • If we're gonna win a game in the first half of the season it's this week or next. Melbourne are barely going themselves

  • Dees to leave the chocolate cake out and the Eagles to come out to play

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Western Bulldogs

The Dogs reigned supreme in 2018 with an inaugural AFLW premiership cup and the Demons matched this feat by winning the cup as the Season 7 2022 champions.Meggs wasn’t born when the Doggies won their first VFL premiership cup against the Demons in 1954. Covid prevented many Demons fans from legally witnessing the victorious 2021 AFL Grand Final cup performance between the Demons and the Bulldogs, but we all grin when remembering those magnificent seven third quarter goals.
