Hope nobody minds me starting a thread just for this but I didn’t want it getting lost in another thread.

Would have loved to go to that, but we will be in Busselton for my daughter's 21st. Couldn't swing an extra day for the game and have to fly back to Brisbane on Saturday morning. Did get to see the hallowed Optus Stadium yesterday though. (my girst time in Perth). Weather has been perfect for football over here. Timings were all so close!!

Shame you can’t be there ☹️

Last year was my first time there. We always enter grounds a couple of hours before the match to set up the cheer squad area, prepare the banner etc. and on that occasion, in the almost-empty stadium, I walked down to the fence and just stood there taking it all in, playing passages of the gf in my head and having quite the moment. A DA buddy came and stood beside me and said, “that’s right, you’ve not been here before.” He understood perfectly.

We’ll cheer extra loud for folks like you who can’t be there ❤️💙

Thank you Ghostwriter.

Camfield is adjacent to Optus so you won’t get lost provided you orientate Sou’ Sou’ West. Barn of a place. Rumoured to be the scene of Satyricon like excesses 25 September 2021.

This will be a massive test for the Demons who will be facing a genuine Premiership contender. Who comes in and who goes out?

  • REPORT: Carlton

The text messages started flooding in shortly after quarter time. One read: “Is Melbourne even at the ground?” Moments later, as Carlton’s Elijah Hollands kicked the first goal of the second term, the Blues held a commanding 43-point lead. By then, the Demons’ only score was a behind kicked by Brody Mihocek nearly five minutes into the game. Ironically, Mihocek would also register the last minor score of the day after the game took a dramatic turnaround.
