In view of fairly varied views on this subject, I'm thinking that there could be quite a variation in how many players are fed through the Seniors. It definitely wont be less and it could be a fair few. Pretty interesting really..

I talked to Salem who said the thyroid issue shows up in blood tests. His reading is low I think. You can take pills to control high but only rest helps low. (I'm not sure what blood read out they test for and I'm clearly no doctor but he has to go through a pre-season build up again and keep his blood levels even.)

Unless it’s a more complicated illness it’s the other way around. Low thyroid is quickly corrected via simple medication, just got to dose it correctly. Overactive thyroid requires more complex medication and takes a bit more to sort out. The challenge is knowing when he’s steady enough to ramp up his exercise without effectively throwing out all the work they’ve done getting the balance right. Hopefully he’s still able to keep his fitness ticking over which then means less of a ramp up
