Which game plan should Melbourne replicate?

Featured Replies

Melbourne hasn’t had much luck pretending to be West Coast or Sydney. And with their backs to the wall, whose game plan should the Dees try and copy next week?

Collingwood?

Carlton?

Adelaide?

Balnarring U /14's?

at the moment, they're looking like the walking wounded. I reckon Sandringham would give the senior side a touch up.

BRISBANE LIONS AFTER WE MAKE neale daniher TIPTOE THROUGH THE TULIPS OUTA' HERE!!!

ANY gameplan would be a start.

and seeing as though the bulldogs didn;t have any tall timber last year, i think given our cattle on the park situation, their gameplan might be a start.

We have not played "R&C" for two weeks.

Indeed we did not even win the ball today to effect a game plan.

A nice touch of humour from someone who would not recognise a game plan if he tripped over one.

we should have a coach that takes our list and thinks up his own game plan instead of trying to copy the premiership team from the previous year

You're right.

It's only been drilled into them all pre-season...

To be used at specific times.

Dont tell me "We lost today because we did not have enough players down in the forward line" again

Beat me to it.....

Maybe some originality in the thought process for this team or at least tailoring the plan to what we can do.

Just a thought  !!!

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Essendon

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
