Best Player to wear #31 since Ron Barassi.

Recency bias? The GF is fresh in our memories and yes, Fritter had a great year.

But are we forgetting that Ray Groom won the 1968 B&F? No mean feat. Heโ€™s the only 31 to do that since Barassi.

Had he not been injured in 1964, heโ€™d also be a Premiership player.

I am old enough to remember him playing and he was a serious talent.ย

Similarly aged, Monsieur(?), I agree. Nonetheless - and with a cheekiness alert (please forgive) -

(A)ย ...from Tassie Johnson (30), Hassa Mann (28), Greg Parke (a precocious 20), Brian Dixon (32) - I wonder how these will compare with our Bluey 1st five this year?

(B) Technicality: He would have been wearing #15ย ๐Ÿ˜‰

Bailey has credit points for his performance in this particular premiership game, but he needs to add longevity at this level to hold this edge over Ray.

Yes, in the 1964 GF, had he played, heโ€™d have been wearing 15. ย He won the B&F wearing 31 in 1968, having switched from 15 in 1965.
