Now not that it matters or anything, but i was sitting in the Ponsford on Monday and im sure alot of you were too. I swear that ball brushed the post and so did a few supporters around me. If you look at the replay closely the ball changes direction right near the post.

Surely some of you blokes saw it too...?

Who cares. If it was signalled goal, it a goal. Ill take it

If that was counted as a behind then we would has lost by between 23 and 29 pts instead of 22

Who cares.

Half of Hawthorn's goals resulted in free kicks.

Sure most of the frees were there, but it would be interesting to see how many goals Hawks kicked without free kicks.

i was right behind the kick my word it hit the post alot of the supporters didn't know what to think when it hit the post ....

i wasn't complaining they got their goals in frees so who cares

I got no issue with MFC kicking goals off other team's errors especially arising from umpiring decisions. FWIW, MFC would just plan sloppy and crude in their tackling.

Yes I saw it & it did hit the post allright. The Hawthorn defender pointed to the sky, but didn't make a convincing argument with the goal umpire. Unfortunately, counts for nothing now.

It’s Pink Lady night at Princes Park — a vibey Friday evening setting for a high-stakes clash between second-placed Melbourne and eleventh-placed Essendon. The wind-sheltered IKON Park, a favourite ground of the Demon players, promises flair, fire and a touch of pink. Melbourne has never lost a home-and-away game here, though the ghosts of two straight-sets finals exits in 2023 still linger.

  • 2025 Player Reviews: # 1 Steven May

The premiership defender has shown signs of wear and tear due to age, and his 2025 season was inconsistent, ending poorly with a suspension and a noticeable decline in performance. The Demons are eager to integrate younger players onto their list and have indicated that they may not be able to guarantee him senior games next season, in what would be the final year of his contract.

The young key tall failed to make progress during the season, with a decline in his goal kicking output. His secondary role as a backup ruckman, which may have hindered his ability to further develop his game, and he was also impacted by the team's poor forward connection. It will be interesting to observe his performance under a new coaching regime.
