Thank christ this was a false alarm... Hunt was great against Hawthorn.

Very exciting to see him playing out of the goal square at times.

100% agree. That scufff up with scicily showed the Hawks we weren't going to just roll over and take it from them.

This was Hunts best game up forward IMO.  Had my doubts he was going to make it in that role but amazing what a nice kick coming i50 can do (Melk).

Very important Melk plays mostly higher up the field, even off the wing at times, from here.  That kick was sublime and he's hit a few of those this year from outside 50.

With the Flash on the move the eyes of those up field must be lighting up also, giving them a real target to hit up instead of the bail out far too often.  Lockhart and hopfully a more mobile Jeffy will also provide some options on the move.

Lowering eyes more often and hitting up targets should offer more space out the back for Tommy & Pruess also.

Flying the flag on Scicily was a beauty as well.  Hopefully they play a replay of that when showing some of the great run down tackles in the review.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
