The AFL threw a ridiculous amount of money at K.Hunt. (and poisoned a whole team's culture) why can't we (i know why) do something cool like poach soccer's best female talent. She was a footy player first. I am sure she would kick a stack of goals. I firmly believe AFLW will help footy survive today's growingly (is that a work (-;) risk averse society. My seppo mates think NFL is dying because not enough kids are playing peewee/pop warner footy. We need to do everything to future proof Australian footy, including poaching everything from Soccer. And I reckon Sam would look great in a Dees jumper.

If the AFL wanted to poach talent from other sports on an industrial scale, all they'd have to do is pay a respectable base wage and give the women's game proper fixturing and consistency.

Considering half the top women players have strong (some even Olympic) background in other sports already, it is hardly a stretch to imagine an ever-growing accumulation.

It is all just waiting for the choice to be made.
