lol i was 3 then always wanted to see the game but only been able to see bits and pieces .... bloody annoys me you can watch 1966.65. bloody 58 even some footage from 1940's but cant watch one Dees premiership win !!!!

Looking forward to todays game , hope Kennedy has a good game...good to see a small wearing 35 again Paul Callery was my favorite player as a kid... before he left over the Ridley sacking

And speaking of which, Ron Barassi had a remarkable year in 1964. I always thought he should have won the Brownlow but the team was so strong that he had too many great players taking votes away from him.

"My first pair of football boots were Ron Barassi boots – single-layer leather with reinforced toe-caps and padding over the anklebone, upon which was signed, in gold, Ron Barassi."

My first pair of footy boots were also RDB boots. I cherished them and, after every game, would clean off the clumps of grass and dirt. It was great to be a follower of the club and to have heroes to look up to like Barass and the players of that era.

Strangely enough, 50 years later we recruited a player who reminds me most of RDB in terms of strength and stature. I saw him play his first practice game yesterday.

Who know what the future might bring?

    The Demons 2026 AFL Fixture is as good as can be expected considering their performances and finishes the past two seasons. Sunday games and late afternoon starts are on the menu with only 1 Friday night fixture until Round 15. They will travel 8 times including their home game in the Alice, their Gather Round game as well as a match against the Hawks in Tasmania. They will face, the Bombers, Bulldogs, the Suns, the Tigers, the Hawks and the Dockers twice.

    Melbourne returned to its city citadel, IKON Park, boasting a 10–2 home record and celebrating its 100th AFLW matchwith 3,711 fans creating a finals atmosphere. But in a repeat of Round 11, Brisbane proved too strong, too fit, and too relentless.  They brought their kicking boots: 9 goals, 2 points.
