CONGRATULATIONS TO BERNIE VINCE - DEMONLAND PLAYER OF THE YEAR

Featured Replies

Just had a read of the interview with Bernie on the MFC website. Gotta love this guy! Really think he's got his head screwed on right. Basically said he's never expected anything, but gives his all to whatever comes his way. Says footy lasts for maybe 10 years, but friendships are forever.

Very glad this lad is at the MFC, and hope his great form continues through the next coupla days.

He must be good for morale

His type of cheer must be infectious

I reckon the top 7 will be spot on with the Bluey. My only question is has Viney played enough games. The way we award Bluey votes penalises players that miss games.

And Wow, Toumpas played 9 games and finished ahead of Howe, Dunn, Dawes....hmmmm

And Stretch(11 games),ANB(11) and Harmes(8)... And he's the whipping boy!

Bernie also named in the Coaches AA team: http://www.melbournefc.com.au/news/2015-09-22/vince-named-in-aflca-allaustralian-team

"AFL COACHES have taken a different approach to naming an All-Australian team, ditching traditional positions in favour of modern tactics."

Its great to have a player that is an AA. Great achievement for Bernie at this stage of his career.

I reckon he got a lot of his Coaches votes because in so many games he was able to lock down an opposing star while having a great offensive game himself!

Really delighted for him.

And nice for him to be named in a team chosen by people who actually know whats what and understand the game.

Not a bunch of hack has been selectors.

  • REPORT: St. Kilda

One of the big stories of the AFL off-season was the spending spree of Melbourne’s Round 1 opponent, St Kilda. They splashed out heavily, first to retain Nasiah Wanganeen-Milera - the hero of last year’s epic come-from-behind miracle victory -turning him into a $2 million man. They then effectively took out an expensive overdraft to recruit a string of expensive players from other clubs. It was a risky investment strategy and, although it’s still early days, it certainly failed to pay off in Sunday’s season opener, with much of the glitter turning to fool’s gold.
