At the start of the year, i wouldn't have minded us going after him, but the way he has conducted himself (particularly in the second half) this year really shows how poor his attitude is. Keep away from him.

how would you behave idf the club has been a [censored] to its players & people such as MnM, yarran, hendo, stuffing them around & then spend a whole season tanking, & doing all it can to derail they're own season.

if you were up for contract & considering moving, then your club tanks the 3rd last game of the season, against the lowest club, so they can get the first pick, would you tell them you pizzing off...

If I was Hendo, I would have told them as well, so there's no chance i can do an ACL, in the remaining games, before getting a new contract elsewhere.

The poor bloke got traded from the Lions, in the Fev deal; without any real say for his hopes & desires, then gets sent to the price-fixers, who start to tank, & against his old club who were on the bottom, the tankers get devoured by the Lions.

i would be really pizza d off myself, & outa there.

I don't have an issue with him telling the club he wants out, in fact i think it's very honest of him and that he did the right thing there. What i don't like is how he has handled himself on the field for the majority of the season. Most of the time he has looked like he doesn't give a flying f@#k, which i think is a very poor attitude to have.

A lot like when Jack Riewoldt really sooks it up. Where does their sense on entitlement come from?

well i haven't been watching the footy, a couple of minutes here & there; so Ive missed the antics, but can you imagine a young fella who is taken in a draft, fly's interstate, serves years as understudy, to then be shipped out for a bigger name, ends up at a club who is torn & broken, then they start to shake things up, with board & admin infighting & change, then they get a high profile coach, then deliberately undermine him & his name over a couple of years, only to sack him mid season whilst list managing their way to the bottom of the ladder...

how should a player who growing up witnessed this stuff happen at his supported club, then see it happening to him in his chosen career, act? I'd say pretty disillusioned & upset.

others who only care about money, & their wages, may act better, taking all that in their stride.... someone who cares more about they're craft, may be very upset, & show it.

edit: I don't understand the entitlement angle.

  • REPORT: Western Bulldogs

The next coach of the Melbourne Football Club faces the challenge of teaching his players how to win games against all comers. At times during this tumultuous season, that task has seemed daunting, made more so in light of the surprise news last week of the sacking of premiership coach Simon Goodwin. However, there were also some positive signs from yesterday’s match against the Western Bulldogs that the challenge may not be as difficult as one might think. The two sides presented a genuine football spectacle, featuring pulsating competitive play with eight lead changes throughout the afternoon, in a display befitting a finals match. The result could have gone either way and in the end, it came down to which team could produce the most desperate of acts to provide a winning result. It was the Bulldogs who had their season on the line that won out by a six point margin that fitted the game and the effort of both sides.

  • CASEY: Brisbane

The rain had been falling heavily in south east Queensland when the match began at Springfield, west of Brisbane. The teams exchanged early goals and then the Casey Demons proceeded like a house on fire in the penultimate game of the VFL season against a strong opponent in the Brisbane Lions. Sparked by strong play around the ground by seasoned players in Charlie Spargo and Jack Billings, a strong effort from Bailey Laurie and promising work from youngsters in Kynan Brown and  Koltyn Tholstrup, the Demons with multiple goal kickers firing, raced to a 27 point lead late in the opening stanza. A highlight was a wonderful goal from Laurie who brilliantly sidestepped two opponents and kicked beautifully from 45 metres out.
