An observation, these players are not pretty to watch or highly skilled. By and large they are hard working grafters.

If you had to list our most talented 5 players I don't think any of these 12 would be on it.

It would be nice to see our most talented players take the step up.

Edit: My most talented. Watts - Salem -Toumpas -Tyson - Hogan

Just off topic for a second, Bitter but optimistic, pg1 #24, gave 5 to N Jones with the comment "This bloke deserves a Brownlow".

Now I'm not saying that he will or even is a good chance to win but 500 to 1 for the Brownlow? I've had some of that.

Not that stats tell the whole picture but in 2012 he averaged 24.6 possessions a game and polled 14 votes in a team that won 4 games. He also missed a game.

This year, so far he has averaged 29.5 possessions a game and is being released by Tyson and Crossy. In my view he was BOG on Saturday and could poll in two other games if lucky. Surely worth a look. Even for a top three finsh he is paying 126 to 1.

Go Nugget!

P.S. having a bald head to get noticed doesn't hurt.

I don't have any basis at all for including Salem and Toumpas

The premise was most talented. These two have talent in abundance. Most experts had them in top 3 midfielders in their respective draft years.Whether either will ever deliver on that talent is any ones guess. I suspect both will make it.

Trengove goes unmentioned on the same criteria?

It depends...how are you defining talent? Skills? If so, which skills? Watts and Toumpas are both beautiful kicks, but their tackling isn't great and both are far behind Howe in marking ability. I haven't seen enough of Hogan or Salem to comment on their "talents", but I do agree that Tyson is a very complete footballer (great hands, kicking, tackling).

I would argue that Dunn is quickly moving up the list of most talented people at the club, and I think that Jones is at the top of that list.

I don't think Trenners is in the top 5 for talent perhaps in top 8. And certainly is not delivering on his talent.

Dunn has under delivered on his talent for years. We tend to forget, this week he delivered. Pick 15 2004 a pretty good draft Delidio Roughhead Griffin Franklin. To me he is an honest toiler with some good skills. But you cannot compare him to someone like Watts who has sublime talent but rarely displays it.

Don't get me wrong, give me a team with 5 Nathan Jones anyday, he always gives 100% never plays a bad game and leads by example, his talent is mid range but guts and determination unmatched, he does the absolute best with his talent. Viney is developing the same way, love him. From what I've seen of Hogan he will also deliver.

In an ideal world you put Nathan Jones head on Jack Watt's body and stand back.

There were a number of Demonland Trackwatchers at Gosch's Paddock this morning to bring you their observations from Preseason Training. KEV MARTIN'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS They were going hard at each other. The sims were in two 15 minute blocks. The second block finished a few minutes early, they gathered and had another 7 minutes at it. I think they were asked to compete, as they would play against an opposition. There was plenty of niggle, between some of them. At the end o

Better late than never … and quite frankly, there’s very little to report other than that training took place at Casey Fields this morning, that Tracc was there nursing his rib injury and that some photographs are on the club’s social media including this one of Clarrie in Raging Bull stance that gives rise for confidence. The other news is that the club has a new train on player in 185cm Dandenong Stingrays midfielder Noah Hibbins-Hargreaves (love the hyphenated name which is just so fitti

Welcome back to Demonland for those like me who have been on vacation. I’m posting this with some trepidation because of a certain amount of uncertainty surrounding the return of preseason training in 2025 after a flurry of weddings including those of our coach, one of our superstar players and a former premiership champion player and bloke, not to mention the recent mysterious incident that occurred on the Mornington Peninsula.  I believe that the team reassembles this morning at Casey Fie

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

A few new faces joined our veteran Demonland Trackwatchers on a beautiful morning out at Gosch's Paddock for another Preseason Training Session.
