you don't have a source at all do you, it's just you talking?

I definitely have a good source, doesn't mean that they are not just talking which is often the case but adding the source to the evidence and it seems right.

I also agree with 'WYL' above in wondering why it wasn't fixed during his layoff during pre season. Maybe the rest did him good but the management since and the foot problem has meant reduced power.

I would have thought Dawes would be more worthy than Trengove of this weeks demonland hanging? 500k a year and he was shown up bigtime by fitz today, granted he has played some good games this year for us and his leadership has been impressive but we are paying him alot of money so he really should be showing abit more touch.

I booked a trip up there in Feb when I was foolishly optimistic about this season. Went anyway. Had great time other than the game.

Dawes was incredibly disappointing. He can't hold a mark to save himself. Seems to be too slow to get enough of a break on his opponent to take a mark so that it can't be punched away. By coincidence I sat next to the GWS forward scout at the airport the next day, his comment was that Dawes can't hold a mark and looks slow.

He's had plenty of game time to be match fit by now. After seeing him live I'm beginning to have my doubts. If Clark comes good next year and Hogan and Howe are in there and Fitzy keeps improving why did they recruit Dawes at all and for way more money than anyone in the industry thought he was worth. More list management nightmares perhaps.

So you are basing this assertion on one game that you saw live?

  • PREVIEW: North Melbourne

Can you believe it? After a long period of years over which Melbourne has dominated in matches against North Melbourne, the Demons are looking down the barrel at two defeats at the hands of the Kangaroos in the same season. And if that eventuates, it will come hot on the heels of an identical result against the Gold Coast Suns. How have the might fallen? There is a slight difference in that North Melbourne are not yet in the same place as Gold Coast. Like Melbourne, they are currently situated in the lower half of the ladder and though they did achieve a significant upset when the teams met earlier in the season, their subsequent form has been equally unimpressive and inconsistent.

  • REPORT: Adelaide

The atmosphere at the Melbourne Football Club at the beginning of the season was aspirational following an injury-plagued year in 2024. Coach Simon Goodwin had lofty expectations with the return of key players, the anticipated improvement from a maturing group with a few years of experience under their belts, and some exceptional young talent also joining the ranks. All of that went by the wayside as the team failed to click into action early on. It rallied briefly with a new strategy but has fallen again with five more  consecutive defeats.
