So might winter be.

Funny game football I sat there stunned at three quarter time and even when we kicked the first two goals I was silent, but as the game went on the roar came back, just as it always does. I'm glad I don't do drugs, I'd be hopelessly hooked.

Same here - I couldn't get into it even when we hit the front because really we should never have been in that position in the first place and it was only against GWS. But as the quarter went on and we began slamming home goals from everywhere (especially as they were kicked by Big Maxy, Evans, Howe & Flash) I got back into it. The players and coaches deserve to hear the cheers after all the rubbish they've been under, most of them for their whole careers.

Also, Mitch Clark had a good game in terms of his impact in helping out other teammates, but if he had been on, and if Jordan Bannister wasn't as bad an umpire as he was a footballer he could have had 4 goals yesterday! The two set shots he missed he normally would be nailing, the kick off the ground in the goalsquare was bad luck, and the mark in the goalsquare that was taken off him was a joke! Add to that the constantly mauling and pushing in the back in marking contests and he should have had a day out. I hope his foot recovers very quickly.

Go Dees!

agreed, he has always been a bit of a free-kick magnet because he is such a beast and so capable in the air that is often nearly impossible to spoil him without infringing.. but this round the umpires just weren't seeing it for him

Glad i was there to see Melbournes best quarter ever in its history.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
