Strangely, we here in Qld have been blessed with an extra game in Qld next weekend.

We need as many Demon fans as possible to get along to cheer the team on in Southport next Saturday. Game is in Southport - guessing the Sharks ground - although to be confirmed.

So anyone who is free get along .. come join the Qld Demons to get a look at our team before the season begins. A great chance to check out the new recruits in a more relaxed atmosphere and it wont be stinking hot like it was in Melbourne this weekend..

Cant wait.. keep an eye on this page as i find out more info. will call melbourne tomorrow to see what i can find out about the plans for the day and how we can help.

Anyone from the cheersquad planning a trip north?????

Check out the Qld Demons facebook page as well. it will be updated.. like us and keep updated all season..

Mods can we please pin this one for the week??

Thanks

Looking for details about Saturday. Anyone heard what the expected crowd will be? What the facilities are like (ie grandstand, standing, etc)?

I'm looking at taking my 9 month old to her first Demon game, but will most likely be flying solo. As she isn't crawling yet, I'm hoping to find an area where I can see, and that won't be too crowded, so that I can put a planket on the ground for her to sit on. Also driving a couple of hours to get to the venue.

Hi Billy. Very good facilities at the Sharks. Nice grandstand. Plus, if you get there earlier enough, can even park your car beside the boundary fence, and toot your horn for every winning goal! (LOL) They are expecting a fair crowd, so suggest you get there in plenty of time. Might see you there!

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
