FIFTY SHADES OF PURPLE

Could be the opposite possibly... Maybe Neeld rates Gysberts and is giving him time to really find his form, while he's not sure about Bennell so he's giving him games to decide if he stays or not at years end?

You mean after 56 games, 5 this year and the FD still does not know.

He is in tomorrow because Davey is out there is no one else at present who is fit.

Well I hope that is the case.

How many 6 possession games does it take ?

Well I suppose his 4 kicks will actually go to someone.

Fairly surprised by some of the selctions this week.

I cannot believe that Bennell held his spot and that is without considering any other factors except l ast week'sgame itself. Add in the game Gysberts played for Casey and Bennell is a very lucky young man. It looks like Bennell has this coach's favour which in my opinion is totally undeserved.

I feel for Moloney. Unlike many others I thought his work as a sub was OK. It appears there is more to this story from inside the club but I really feel for this bloke.

Great to see Couch in.

Petterd hasn't earned his place back and I reckon it has more to do with other injuries than his form.

Boy our forward line looks weak.

He has hidden talent Maldon boy

And you know what they say about hidden talent!

Pretty sure Neeld wants to make up his own mind about our players ("clean slate" etc), and how they fit in with what he wants.

I didn't see this is what IS happening, but to me it would make sense as well as give a reason why a bunch of players have been kept in longer than their form has warranted sometimes.

Just think he's been pretty patient with guys like Gysbterts and Couch, while letting guys like Bennell, Morton, Moloney etc get more opportunities to win him over.

It's only my impression, take it or leave it, just looking for reasons... as always

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
