From the Herald Sun

MELBOURNE

INJURED:

Luke Tapscott (concussion) test

Rohan Bail (knee) 1 week

Michael Newton (foot) 2 weeks

James Strauss (broken leg) season

Jack Grimes (foot) season

Jake Spencer (knee) season

ON THE BLOCK:

If Brad Green wasn’t captain then surely his recent form would deserve a VFL spell. Maybe it’s time for a different role. Matthew Bate failed to make an impact.

ON THE CUSP:

Cale Morton, Colin Sylvia, Matthew Warnock, Sam Blease, Neville Jetta, Liam Jurrah

JON ANDERSON’S FORECAST:

Warnock deserves a chance against the Eagles. Sylvia is clearly in Melbourne’s best 22 so presumably his axing was for other reasons. Don’t think it would do any harm for Jurrah to have an extended spell in the VFL, but he played well for Casey. It’s time to give Blease a continued run in the seniors.

What about the Russian?

That's not such a bad injury list for this time of the season is it.

Better if you follow the melbournefc.com.au site which has Rohan Bail in for a test which means he could play for Casey this week. Aussie can't be far either and it looks as if the Russian will be back!

Round 21 injury list

Rohan Bail (knee) - test

Michael Evans (back) - season

Jack Grimes (foot) - season

Michael Newton (foot) - 1-2 weeks

Jake Spencer (knee) - season

James Strauss (leg) - season

Luke Tapscott (neck) - test

I'd have Bail up against West Coast.

Forget the haunting of Round 11 — we’ve got this. Melbourne returns to its inner-city fortress for its milestone 100th AFLW match, carrying a formidable 10–2 record at IKON Stadium. Brisbane’s record at the venue is more balanced: 4 wins, 4 losses and a draw.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Geelong

It’s been a season of grit, growth, and glimpses of brilliance—mixed with a few tough interstate lessons. Now, with finals looming, the Dees head to Kardinia Park for one last tune-up before the real stuff begins.

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
