Gawn has played 3 games, 3 games he wouldn't have got if Spencer was fit. 3 games has not lifted him above Spencer. The end.

Haha....

Whilst it may well be true that Gawn only got his games because Spencer was injured, that only tells us where the players were at before Gawn played. Now that he has played, and played well, he is in front of Spencer. This is on account of the fact that Gawn looked comfortable and capable at AFL level, whilst Spencer has yet to display this.

Correction. If Spencer had been fit, he would have got the first game - and he might just have got the benefit of the doubt for a second..... but Max would have got the third ....... and he'd be even further ahead of Spencer than he is now - because we'd have had a recent reminder of how far away "Frank" actually is.
