Prisoners break in to umpiring ranks

NTFL officials have turned to the local jail to overcome a shortage of umpires

LOW security prisoners from Berrimah Jail will control Australian football matches in Darwin this season.

A chronic shortage of the men-in-white has forced NTFL officials to turn to the jail for prospective boundary and goal umpires.

Six prisoners from the jail are being trained in all aspects of the game, including decision making, adjudicating and enforcing rules.

I've been saying for years that AFL games are umpired by criminals.
