It is sad to see James McDonald go as he is a true champion of our club. He should be very proud of the respect he's earned over his 251-game career and how much he got out of himself.

Over rated his own game, Bater.

He is better than has been shown. Pre-season and he will be back

Bate has the tools to be a good footballer at this level. Could be fitness, confidence or a combination of the two that has seen him fall out of Baileys good graces and out of favor with many fans.

I will put my hand up as a guy who now has a question mark over Bater. I still think he will fight back and be a good player for the club, but it wont happen without hard work and a little bit of luck.

He carried the forward line for years but definately fell out of form this year. I still reckon at his best he could be very valuable and with a full pre-season under his belt i hope he can recapture his best.
