MFC confirm Bailey's extension

Featured Replies

Considering many here believe one bad game against quality opposition merits renegging on a 1yr contract, does playing a very good game against quality opposition lead to consummerate result - perhaps a 2 year extension for Bailey?

I maintain my annoyance and impatience with the bulk of MFC supporters - pitifully lacking in intestinal fortitude and desparately afraid to look bad in front of peers.

During Bailey's tenure we have become younger, and the younger players have become better.

That is what I see with my own two eyes, but please tell me my eyes are lying...

But bring a decent argument.

Moderators should moderate, not name call posters who have opinions. Mindless whingeing and bleating eh Rhino?

You moderators have suggested we comment on club matters and then smarties like you jump on my post and don't even mention club stuff. People like you make me laugh Pal! Say one thing and do another. Glad you don't play football for us as you seem not to have any idea of what it takes to be successful.I wont be blinded by one improved performance.

I will however admit I was wrong if improvement steadily grows into some form of success.

Hope you are more mindful of your posts as I would be really embarrassed in your position.

Try not to get too cut about my posts as they are only my opinions. I could be wrong!!! LOL.

Yeah, yeah, we can wait another 2 or 3 years to start getting successful on the field!

With little or no success this year our club will suffer unimaginably. For a start: membership! How good is it now?

Lets just let the club sit on it's hands and wait for success to knock on our door, yeah right.

That is losers mentality. Who want's to be a winner?

Bailey hasn't changed the winning mentality particularly of the younger players at the club, let alone the pathetic efforts by the experienced ones.

"Miller should definitely be a leader around the club" was the catch cry of many, Bailey agreed at the time!!!!!

Do some of you not realise how serious our plight still is?

We need to keep trying to improve the on field scene and if we are still in the lowest spot at seasons end, certain people will look pretty ordinary.

Some forumers keep putting down anyone who suggests more personel changes are needed but have no concrete suggestions other than wait and see! What.....forever? 08,09,this year, next year: then what?

At least I put up ideas to try, because the way we are headed is not working, nor will it.

What. Did you say something. I couldn't quite hear, I thought I saw your lips move, but nothing came out.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: West Coast

Epic battle alert.  This Sunday, Casey Fields hosts a coach’s showdown pitting the wits of the master Mick Stinear (92 games, 71.7% win rate) against his protégé Daisy Pearce (16 games, 43.8%). Still early in her coaching journey, Daisy’s record doesn’t yet reflect her impact — but she’s already the best-performed coach at West Coast.Dais’ is mythic.  Like Katniss Everdeen, everyone either wants to kiss her, kill her (sporting metaphor) or be her.  Toothers Daisy Pearce is a role model, someone admired for their heart, humility and humour.

  • AFLW REPORT: Port Adelaide

Well, that was a shock. The Demons 4-game unbeaten run came to a grinding halt in a tense, scrappy affair at the sunny, windy Alberton Oval, with the Power holding on for a 2-point win. The Dees had their chances—plenty of them—but couldn't convert when it mattered most. Port’s tackling pressure rattled the Dees, triggering a fumble frenzy and surprising lack of composure from seasoned players.

  • AFLW PREVIEW: Port Adelaide

The undefeated Demons venture across the continent to the spiritual home of the Port Adelaide Football Club on Saturday afternoon for the inaugural match for premiership points between these long-historied clubs. Alberton Oval will however, be a ground familiar to our players following a practice match there last year. We lost both the game and Liv Purcell, who missed 7 home and away matches after suffering facial fractures in the dying moments of the game.

  • AFLW REPORT: Richmond

A glorious sunny afternoon with a typically strong Casey Fields breeze favouring the city end greeted this round four clash of the undefeated Narrm against the winless Tigers. Pre-match, the teams entered the ground through the Deearmy’s inclusive banner—"Narrm Football Weaving Communities Together and then Warumungu/Yawuru woman and Fox Boundary Rider, Megan Waters, gave the official acknowledgement of country. Any concerns that Collingwood’s strategy of last week to discombobulate the Dees would be replicated by Ryan Ferguson and his Tigers evaporated in the second quarter when Richmond failed to use the wind advantage and Narrm scored three unanswered goals.

  • CASEY: Frankston

The late-season run of Casey wins was broken in their first semifinal against Frankston in a heartbreaking end at Kinetic Stadium on Saturday night that in many respects reflected their entire season. When they were bad, they committed all of the football transgressions, including poor disposal, indiscipline, an inability to exert pressure, and some terrible decision-making, as exemplified by the period in the game when they conceded nine unanswered goals from early in the second quarter until halfway through the third term. You rarely win when you do this.
