What position do you see Liam Patrick playing in for the MFC? Bear in mind that at 185 cm he is far, far too short to be an AFL ruckman.

He may have X factor as a ruckman in bush footy, but at his size in the AFL he'll need to be a very, very special flanker to be worth pick 18.

Half Forward/Forward pocket

Re pick 18 As I said I would take a potential game breaker with the ability to turn a game and bring in the crowds as opposed to a big guy with a serious injury under his belt. Let's face it they are both risks, I'd go for Patrick because of the potential upside. I see this pick as a bonus so I'd use it that way. Plus I don't want to see him playing for Essendon.

Would love to get Liam Patrick -- I am a romantic -- but we may as well be trying to get Neville Jetta's cousin, too. Anyway, those who remember the Cockatoo-Collins hype (mid-90s) would agree that family fairy tales aren't always productive for the club.

If Luke Ball makes it to p.30 - I'll be happy he's not with us - but will remain forever convinced that AFL is rigged.

FFS!

After picking 4 midfielders with the first 4 picks.... you'd have to guess we will be taking Thorpe late in the draft.
