KEEP BROCK

McLean will be a very good player next season and will be back to his best once he gets a full pre-season. So if the cheats knock back the deal its not bad thing.

He wasn't touted future captain for nothing.

No, thanks.

Only an academic question, the deal is done !!

No, thanks.

pick 11 is weak in this years draft and is probably more like pick 21, that is not good compensation for a number five pick

from my understanding the deal is not done because carlton are asking for more

I wasn't keen on the McLean trade when it was put forward and I'm still tentative about it now, but to say that pick 21 is worth pick 11 in this years draft is just pure hyperbole. Sure, it's compromised with age restrictions, but come on.

totally agree with the original post. People that are happy with this trade are idiots. Lets have a look at pick 11 in the past:

Andreis Everitt (2006, pick 11): no impact to date

Shaun Higgins (2005, pick 11) : Gun

Adam Thomson (2004, pick 11): Dud

Beau Waters (2003, pick11): injury prone.

Winderlich(2002, pick 11): Good player

Richard Cole (2001, pick 11): Dud

Trent Sporn (2000, pick 11): Dud

With a weaker draft this year, we can't expect to get as good a player as above.

It's amazing how quickly people turn off Mclean because of an injury riddled season. Just like those people that were off Sylvia. Where are those people now? WHERE ARE YOU! own up to being wrong you flogs.

He's gone to Vegas with players from Carlton for their end of season trip.....so i don't think he will staying at the Dees.....

  • REPORT: Carlton

I am now certain that the decline in fortunes of the Melbourne Football Club from a premiership power with the potential for more success to come in the future, started when the team ran out for their Round 9 match up against Carlton last year. After knocking over the Cats in a fierce contest the week before, the Demons looked uninterested at the start of play and gave the Blues a six goal start. They recovered to almost snatch victory but lost narrowly with a score of 11.10.76 to 12.5.77. Yesterday, they revisited the scene and provided their fans with a similar display of ineptitude early in the proceedings. Their attitude at the start was poor, given that the game was so winnable. Unsurprisingly, the resulting score was almost identical to that of last year and for the fourth time in succession, the club has lost a game against Carlton despite having more scoring opportunities.

  • CASEY: Carlton

The Casey Demons smashed the Carlton Reserves off the park at Casey Fields on Sunday to retain a hold on an end of season wild card place. It was a comprehensive 108 point victory in which the home side was dominant and several of its players stood out but, in spite of the positivity of such a display, we need to place an asterisk over the outcome which saw a net 100 point advantage to the combined scores in the two contests between Demons and Blues over the weekend.

  • POSTGAME: Carlton

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.
