Vote for Liam Jurrah

I went over and voted for Liam. Was a special goal. Let's hope he gets the nod.

Have a feeling Stephen Hill might win it though. Reminded me of Peter Matera at his best.

Putting bias aside, Hill deserves goal of the week. Awesome goal considering the timing of the game (to put them level Vs Geelong) and the degree of difficulty.

Very excited by Jurrahcane's debut though!

Really? I thought Hills goal was just a goal. Yeah good run and recieve, then kicked it from 50, but I expect that to be standard from midfielders. Jurras was exceptional and different, which is what I want to see in Goal of the Year.

Nothing ill beat the Wells(?) goal from a few years ago where he kicked it in mid air though.

Yeah, I agree. If they were down by 10 goals I'm not sure he would have been dubbed 'awesome' and a 'star'.

It was a nice finish but I think the Jurrah goal's more noteworthy.

And vote now for his mark of the week coming up against the lions.

:D

  • DRAFT: The Next Generation

It was not long after the announcement that Melbourne's former number 1 draft pick Tom Scully was departing the club following 31 games and two relatively unremarkable seasons to join expansion team, the Greater Western Giants, on a six-year contract worth about $6 million, that a parody song based on Adele's hit "Someone Like You" surfaced on social media. The artist expressed lament over Scully's departure in song, culminating in the promise, "Never mind, we'll find someone like you," although I suspect that the undertone of bitterness in this version exceeded that of the original.

  • AFLW REPORT: Brisbane

A steamy Springfield evening set the stage for a blockbuster top-four clash between two AFLW heavyweights. Brisbane, the bookies’ favourites, hosted Melbourne at a heaving Brighton Homes Arena, with 5,022 fans packing in—the biggest crowd for a Melbourne game this season. It was the 11th meeting between these fierce rivals, with the Dees holding a narrow 6–4 edge. But while the Lions brought the chaos and roared loudest, the Demons aren’t done yet.
