I like the white as a link to our past. And great for signatures!

This is the only way I'll accept white in our clash guernsey. If we're able to market our clash guernsey as a heritage-style "Invincible Whites" guernsey, replete with fake laces and the orginal design, then that could work. I'm not sure of the original design though. If it's just a plain white strip, then I don't know if I could handle looking at us in full white maggot material.

On a separate issue, I can't believe the AFL's stubbornness on this. Their farcical concessions to Collingwood and Essendon make their stance against Melbourne a mockery. A simple Red strip with the blue MFC logo would suffice as a perfect clash strip. Perhaps a white guernsey with a ironed on photo of Jabba the Hutt will be all that will satisfy Vlad.

Disgraceful jumper.

You'd really hope they've learnt from this silver farce that the supporters want red and blue.

Demonland has come up with about 6 alternative designs - I hope these have been put to the club or will be in the near future because some of them were excellent - they provided a genuine alternative to our real strip, are designs that the supporters would get behind, and just as importantly they are instantly recognisable as the Melbourne Footy Club.

Surely a few of these very passionate foundation 150 members that are gathering next week would feel the same way about this as the majority on this site. Perhaps we can get a few of them to donate money to cover the fine every game we refuse to wear a clash jumper next year.

Pantaloons I agree. It's pointless putting white in our jumper, and then claiming heritage when we're clearly being pushed.

If we want white in the jumper, and we want to claim heritage in that decision, the jumper must reflect our heritage. With that said, ironically, reflecting our heritage would be to use Red and Blue.

Practically speaking yes. But the jumper design of the Melbourne based clubs are so unique and historic.

Clubs don't have a real home ground or territory anymore. Players come and go, but the jumper is one of the few things actually linking past and present.

A near full strength Demons were outplayed all night against a Blues outfit that was under the pump and missing at least 9 or 10 of the best players. Time for some hard decisions to be made across the board.

  • PREVIEW: Carlton

Good evening, Demon fans and welcome back to the Demonland Podcast ... it’s time to discuss this week’s game against the Blues. Will the Demons celebrate Clayton Oliver’s 200th game with a victory? We have a number of callers waiting on line … Leopold Bloom: Carlton and Melbourne are both out of finals contention with six wins and eleven losses, and are undoubtedly the two most underwhelming and disappointing teams of 2025. Both had high expectations at the start of participating and advancing deep into the finals, but instead, they have consistently underperformed and disappointed themselves and their supporters throughout the year. However, I am inclined to give the Demons the benefit of the doubt, as they have made some progress in addressing their issues after a disastrous start. In contrast, the Blues are struggling across the board and do not appear to be making any notable improvements. They are regressing, and a significant loss is looming on Saturday night. Max Gawn in the ruck will be huge and the Demon midfield have a point to prove after lowering their colours in so many close calls.
