my 3 word player analysis V the Bullfrogs

Featured Replies

My 3 word player analysis vs Bulldogs (more accurate version of events): -

Bartram - least ranked player

Bate - two contested possessions

Bell - 95% efficiency rating

Bruce - 25 fricking handballs!

Buckley - breaks the lines

Dunn - Very good job

Garland - Was very effective

Green - Can't question commitment

Jamar - Should do more

C. Johnson - Coming of Age

P. Johnson - 33% to Advantage!

Jones - Zero tackle count

Martin - ten contested possessions!

Miller - Gaining in Confidence

Morton - Needs more Penetration

Newton - Very Ineffective game

Sylvia - Did he play?

Warnock - Gives his all

Wheatley - 65% efficiency rating (high disposals) ie. "High in clangers"

Whelan - Good spear tackle (but that's about it)

Valenti - Was left free

Wonaeamirri - High tackle count

I know you can kick it 100meters, I'm even impressed, but seriously if you can't hit a target you are useless.

Thought Miller and Newton were victims of incredibly poor delivery, especially Miller who works incredibly hard all day. In the last, when we finally kicked to advantage Miller took some excellent marks and kicked truly. Newton took some good marks, but some of his goal attempts were selfish.

Quite simply, the forward line waas far too crowded for any Miller time. I felt that Newton was in his way all day. Miller started to kick goals, when it was finally cleared and allowed Miller to lead, which he does soo well. There were occiansions were he wasnt getting any supply, and lead 80-100mts up the ground!!

On Newton, he looks incredibly lazy. Got plently of it, and has showed us that he can mark, but his shots on goals are shithouse! He may very well just LOOK like a lazy player, but to me, it should be Miller as the go-to.

  • PREVIEW: Essendon

Not long ago, the narrative surrounding Melbourne was steeped in pessimism. There was some concern among the pundits (and even some fans) that the club would arrive at the AFL’s Gather Round still winless, vulnerable to a familiar adversary in the Essendon Football Club, and facing significant scrutiny from an ever-critical media on a national stage. Things have changed.

  • REPORT: Gold Coast

Steven King astutely identified the issues that had plagued the Melbourne Football Club over the past two and a half seasons when he auditioned for the newly created coaching role. The side that had claimed the 2021 premiership had become stodgy, slow-paced, and hesitant to take the initiative.
